I would take the Bee Gees over any of them any day.

I Listen to about an hour a day between 7.45-8.45 on the way to work, then listen to the podcast one night a week on the way home.

I have the Desire HD and cant work out why so many people have issues with the battery. I can get 36hours out of my phone with light use, but easily get a full day out of it (8am-10pm) with heavy usage. By heavy usage I mean, emails on push, facebook and twitter on push, CM.net, general internet browsing and listening to about 5-6 hours of music/podcasts a day. Even then its only down to about 25% battery by 10pm.

I have issues with it too, it's the only major downside to the phone.

Topher wrote:Because Radio 2 is better than Radio 1 generally - with the exception of Chris Moyles, I don't listen to a single show on Radio 1, whereas I love listening to Simon Mayo in the afternoons and if I get the chance, Radcliffe and Maconie in the evenings. Plus there's Janice Long, though I've not listened to her for ages and Evans for when Moyles is off.

So true, the execption is I might now again listen to Greg James, Mayo is way better than Mills, I also like his movie show on Radio 5 every friday afternoon always good. And I'm far from being a grandad :D

I listen to the whole thing the following day. I generally hear most of the first hour twice.

At this point, I would like to request Aled to change the Golden Hour to a Thursday so that I hear it on a Friday rather than a Monday. That would be smashing. That was the set up last week with the Birthday Show and it made my Friday a better place to be.

I listen to Monday's show from 6:30 until about 8 or so when I go to bed after doing the night-shift and every other Thursday is the same. Fridays when I work until 8am I listen to it from 6:30am until around 8:30 or so but when i work until 7, I usually listen to it until 8. Don't listen to an entire Friday's show because of the Golden Hour with the exception of last week's Birthday show. Don't listen to the other shows live as I tend to keep them so I can listen to all of them during work hours because it passes the time having entertainment in your ears rather than the repetitive music that is on the stereo in the background. Believe me, you would go nuts having to listen to songs like What's My Name, Rolling in the Deep and Grenade several times within the 9-10 hours I do 4 nights a week.

If I had a normal 9 to 5 job like most of you here, I would probably be listening to the whole show from when I get up through to the start of work and listen to some of the shows you listen to afterwards because no way in hell would I keep it on Radio 1 and Ms "MORRNNING!!!" to ruin the day. Only other show I listen to on Radio 1 is the Surgery but a while back I used to listen to Dev, Edith, Review Show (which is gone now and good riddance) and Annie Mac & Dick (Nick) Grimshaw.

If I could have Radio 2's Music with more of Radio 1's lineup, I'd be a happy man. I love Steve Wright, Ken Bruce, Simon Mayo and Jeremy Vine, but they can be a little bit fuddy-duddy. When all these new faces get to Radio 2 in 15 years, I'm going to be in my element.

Oh and I'm 21.

Mine? Hahaha. And yes, I'm 21 and I always get told I look younger. Though I don't think so in person, I don't know, ask Aled's opinion ;P.

21 and you prefer the Radio 2 music? The main thing that puts me off trying Radio 2 is the music. On the last three occasions I have tuned into that station songs by Pat Boone, Neil Sedaka and Frank Sinatra have been playing. I am 34 and I dont feel anywhere near ready for that yet 8O

I've just looked at the R2 playlist and, in fairness, it isnt too bad. It is very "safe" though. The modern stuff they have on there is of the bland variety in my opinion.

I much prefer the R1 playlist.

Gaspode_The_Wonder_Dog wrote:I don't prefer Radio 2 music so much as the variety Radio 1 refuses to play older music that would still fit with its image. The Clash, The Kinks, The Beatles etc are cool regardless of age

I agree with that. And that is the main reason why I dont like the golden hour. There is loads of old music that the R1 demographic would and do like.

I think radio 2's playlist is hit and miss, some cool old stuff, some dire middle-of-the-road new stuff. Generally speaking I like the DJs, apart from Jeremy Vine who gets on my nerves. But I only hear it when I'm at my parents' place, I haven't yet been tempted to tune into it out of choice, apart from maybe Sounds of the Seventies on a Sunday afternoon.

I try and listen to the whole show (CPC don't really interest me too much these days). I work from home, so can listen to it. Only recently (last 2 months) discovered the 6:30 - 7:15 piece... Can't believe not found it before, tends to be great, the awkwardness of Aled the other week, dave, etc. It's great.

I even pause then I need to pop out of shower, etc, and then fast foward the news or music I don't like. Try and listen to it live tho! :)

I wake up to the cheesy song and lye in bed listening to the first half hour however I do sometimes slip in and out of a sleep so sometimes only heard bits and pieces of the opening link and after the 7 news.

Depending on what time I get my ass out of bed, and ready for work, I usually listen right through to between 8 & 9 sometimes to 9:30 (on my lazy mornings)

I do usually listen back again in the evening when I'm online or doing some of my OU course.
