The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I loved how one texter said, 'oh here we go, it'll be in London, for the South of England again'. And once again, they focus on SE England. Can't get much closer to London than St Albans. Let's hope next time it will be a bit further outside the M25.

its weird them doing things that are close to where they live. I quite often arrange a random party in multiple locations!

Sorry people, not been near PC last few days.

I was so gutted to miss this. I was listening to Scott when this was announced. So gutted to have not been able to get there in time. Sitting havin' a beer with Chris and the team, bet that was amazing.....

Hope they do it again soon.

But this featured on the show it wasn't a personal night out for the team only. It was one of 5 meet the listeners type gatherings lol

I do wonder why not one of the *hello i'm listening" events were brought up north what happend to the north east birmingham yorkshire or scotland ? Five days and not one event hosted further than 100 miles from london. most of the events were within easy distance of london. How were the winners picked ?

strange how chris didn't even mention that no events took place up north i presume this was all done to counter the launch of evans of radio 2

fell rather flat imo

Just because they didn't go "Up T'North" doesn't mean the feature was poor.

I'm sure they said that if someone was from far away that they would have to pay their travel.

Fairly close to me as well but not close enough. And they weren't allowed to post it on Twitter for health and safety reasons. I can't imagine what those reasons are though

I'm gutted to have missed this, second time round, especially as Leamington is only a hours drive from me, but parental duties required me to do otherwise. Shame, would love to 'ave a pint with the big man.

You must have missed the live shows they did before Christmas.

These events were (from what I could gather) off their own backs, rather than official BBC Radio 1 features. Which given they were what you'd call local would make sense.

Exactly. Give it a rest on the whole 'they never come to my town' thing.

Weird Chris had a 'lil rant about this comment today, even though it was written over a year ago (Fri Jan 22 2010) and was originally complaining that the St. Albans pub location was too close to London.
It had nothing to do with the recent visit to Lemington Spa. (which I thought was a good effort by Chris and the team considering weren't drinking!)

I'm guessing he didn't read it too carefully and didn't check the dates

Come on, folk can't seriously expect the team to be able to travel too far if they are doing the show the following morning.

As much as i'd love them to visit a pub in Glasgow or Edinburgh, they couldn't do that unless they did the show from a closer location the next morning.

They broadcast from some bloke's house once in 2004, he woke up and there they were. One down.. quite a few to go then!

There have been a lot of ancient threads dredged up recently. I'm not remotely surprised that Chris didn't realise the one above was over a year old, cos I didn't.

my fault on this thread, but thought I'd resurrect the "moyles in the pub" thread ( which i had flashbacks to creating a year ago ) rather than creating a new one
