Mine goes off at 6.25 - so it's a panic to press snooze before I hear that moron that does the show before.

Set it a bit later then. Like 6.28

But that'd be a snooze eating into something I like listening to. There has to be at least one snooze...

And waking up to aural Russian-roulette is always a good start to the day ;)

He's offensively bad. I used to drive to the gym and get there for 6 when Greg James was on. I can't bear it now. Unlistenable radio's making me fat :(

I very much like the Cheesy Songs. I know the words to most of them, from the ones back when the Monday Cheesy Song started with "Welcome to a brand new day, the worst day of the week. 'Cos Monday Mornings always suck, they're cold, and damp, and bleeeeaaaaak!" My favorite bunch, that one. I found them all on Music4 too!

It wwas funny at first but now it's old and living up to its name...change the style (no rap or hip-hop please!) and keep the lyrics!

Thanks for the welcome! I'm a slowish poster. Heh. It's been a busy two years for me, so I've not been posting as much as I'd like.

You could say that. 4 posts in 2 years could be a new record.

Am I not right in sayin' the cheddar song has been about since Moyles started the breakfast show, 6 years ago?!

I voted to stay, its how the show starts.

No.
Yudster wrote:Apparently not, but its been a different one every day this week which I think is pretty amazing, and not at all lazy considering that the number of words you can rhyme with "song" is pretty limited and they have used them all at least three times now.

"Amazing"? Really?

I'm easily impressed. As you are only too well aware.

Was there a complaint? I remember about this time last week it being 'blah blah blah, and aled who is gay-ay. Dominic has got 3 kids, tina has got none.' etc. And i'm listening to today's show on iplayer and it's now 'blah blah blah, and aled who is weee-elsh.'. Was there a complaint? 8O

yeah, I noticed that change as well. Although I kinda prefer it when you're expecting a swearing rhyme or something, and it doesn't rhyme. Like the christmas jingles where there's a line 'we'll all get tipsy' or something.

"Cuddly toys for Aled, some alcohol for Chris. He'll share it out with all the team, and then they'll all get tipsy", the first few lines of the second part of the Christmas Cheesy Song 2009 and 2010. It's available on the Music4 website. ^_^
I'm just like Aled, in some respects... and I was shocked with this year's cheesy song, but not enough to complain about. It's troubling that they might have changed it for this reason, too much Political Correctness these days...

Too easily, in my opinion. The only person who could possibly be offended by the use of the line "Aled is gay" in the Cheesy Songs, is Aled himself. And I'm sure he probably approved the jingle for use on the air himself when it was written/recorded/added to the jingle list (note the use of the word "probably"), and was therefore not offended!

I doubt anyone will have complained about the content of the cheesy song. Not that many people hear the lyrics anyway.

Tis true, many Moyles listeners wouldn't even know the cheesy song exists.....

No it's not.

Yeah, it is.

It's not 'the same', but it's the same 'concept'.

And surely Aled is used to (and happy with) being stereotyped as gay - he goes on about it enough himself...

I suppose, yeah, most of them start listening at 8am+, hence that's why they usually have guests then.
