Intrested to know what you all think about this.It's been around 3 years of them now and I'm personally bored to tears with it.The lyrics use to be changed regularly but no more which makes me think Chris is bored with them too, so what do yous lot think.Stay, Go or Replaced.

A new song maybe, dunno really.I loved the Afternoon show openers but they wouldn't work at 6:30am.

Chris said at the beginning of this current one (when it changed from the one with different lyrics every day) that the effort required to keep coming up with the new lyrics simply wasn't worth it when apparently it was discovered that the vast majority of listeners simply didn't notice the lyrics.

Keep it. People may not like it but its part of the show and personally i love it. You wouldn't get rid of the eastenders theme tune would you?! Same concept.

Yeah it is. The cheesy song is effectively the theme tune and has been a part of the show ever since day 1 so it would now be stupid to get rid of it

The show started in 2004 (that's just breakfast) The Cheesy Song started in 2007, also everyone who watches Eastenders knows the theme tune, I don't watch Eastenders and I can even play the theme tune on the piano, whereas some people will never have even heard Celebrity Raspberry, never mind The Cheesy Song.It's nowhere near as important.

I like the Cheesy song. it's part of the show. It wouldn't feel right not starting the show with it.

Although i don't like the "new" cheesy song. Starting from 2009, they remixed the cheesy song, with new drums, a new intro and less strings. also different choir work. It doesn't jump out at me like the pre 2009 one.

I didn't say it wasn't important.I have become bored with the cheesy song and fancy something new.You can't compare a jingle to an iconic TV theme tune was all I was saying.

I just like the way you sort of get that waking up feeling at the beginning. All they need to do is change a few of the lyrics, as I practically knew all of the words to the cheesy song before the Xmas Cheesy song was being played. I think the bed suits the opening 30 minute chat aswell. My opinion of course, but I think it should stay.
I dont know what you can replace it with, certainly not a "1,2,3,4" jingle like the afternoon shows had, as that then went into a Moylesey shouting "LET'S ROCK!" and then playing a song. This, then ruins the opening 30 minute link, which, IMO again, is the highlight of every show.

I remember Vivienne saying that when she hears the beginning of the cheesy song she gets a mental image of the sun coming up over the horizon and it makes her feel happy - I mentally added a smiley face to the sun and it all got a bit Tellytubbies, but I agree with her and I like it. I do think its a little long personally, but they need it to be long enough to allow Chris to be his regular few minutes late don't they?

I remember when it first started in it's current form and thinking I hated it. But it's a nice gentle start and is better than waking up to MOOORRRNIIINGGGG, which would make me violent.

I can't even remember how the show used to start now, so must be used to it.

Surely everyone noticed it was a different song on each day though?

Apparently not, but its been a different one every day this week which I think is pretty amazing, and not at all lazy considering that the number of words you can rhyme with "song" is pretty limited and they have used them all at least three times now.

Mine goes off at 6.25 - so it's a panic to press snooze before I hear that moron that does the show before.
