Very good year. It was such a hard choice. In the end it was down to Hanson - Hmm bop, Green day - Good Riddance - Time of your life and the verve but I've gone for The Verve - Lucky Man

Ah 1997, a great year that I well remember, mainly as it was around about the time I was regularly listening to Moyles on Capital FM by that time.

Anyway my choice for this year:

His first Radio 1 show was on 28th July 1997 so he was at Capital for the first half of 1997

Correct, there's a pair of his Capital FM shows in the archive, can't tell you how gutted he was when he disappeared off of Capital FM in later June/Early July, I think the love songs came back to Capital FM when he went
