The Moyles team normally have a couple of weeks off over Christmas/New Year don't they? I don't know who has the show between the 24th and New Year, but if Moyles is off the following week I can't tell you how happy I am that it will be Zane covering and not the Orange Idiot. Personally I'm hoping he gets eaten by a crocodile while he's in Australia.

We can only hope that that happens to Scott. But i like Zane as well and think it will be quite entertaining but who is gonna do the shows overnight then if all the night people are on days.

Considering the press interest in Chris' future at Radio 1 and the BBC's relationship with him, they aren't doing themselves or Chris any favors with that headline. Instead of pushing the actual message that Radio 1 will be pushing new music in January and are spearheading it with the night DJs in the daytime, they've singled out Chris as if it's a trial to take over the breakfast slot, when it's the whole daytime slots being covered. I'd have thought they would have trialled Grimmy on breakfast though.

Does it mean that Chris and team will be on in the evening instead?

I never experienced Grimmy in the weekend breakfast slot, but he's alright and there's been a few comments and hints at him being considered for the slot in the past.

Awww, he's not that bad! From a musical perspective I think he's great! What about him annoys you?

I like his voice, he has a good radio sound, but his personality is just a bit too "look at me, I'm a celeb and I hang out with famous people and sleep with girls from hip-hop videos".

I was thinking the same but can you really see Chris or even Fearne agreeing to that but then again who will do the night time shows then. Maybe we should Ask Aled.

Maybe. I like his show mostly for the music selection. But I see what you mean.

Maybe the night time slots will be specials, like they said they're having a lot of live gigs and Introducing features, so maybe it'll just be filled with that.

A week that I can tune out from Radio 1 then.

Colin Murray played far better music and it was a vastly superior show to Nick Grimshaw's.

Colin Murray's 10pm show was brilliant - and Radio 1 were too - stupid? Too something anyway - to hold on to him. Grimmy is nowhere even close.

I quite liked Colin's show and loved the Black hole feature.

Unfortunately I think with Colin having done (or moved) between so many different shows/times/slots, I can only guess either the R1 management didn't see any future or maybe he thought himself it was time to move on. I believe he still does a fair bit of TV work, but then again who can remember RI:SE ? ;)

At the time I thought Radio 1 were stupid to let him go, but having heard his interview on Simon Mayo's show when he took over presenting Match of the Day 2, he said he doesn't miss music radio at all because he can play records any time he likes in his own time and he prefers to do that and have sports presenting as a job. I believe that too, he was convincing - I now think he probably left of his own accord.

I'm sure he did leave of his own accord, I just think radio 1 should have made more of an attempt to make him change his mind!
