Week 34 of The Golden Hour Game, and as Zoot looks for his 10th win and 3rd consecutive title, we play 1999.

Choose a song, with a youtube link if you can, and later in the week we'll vote in a poll for the best one.

Go!

If this doesn't win I will definitely not be surprised but I need to continue my Christmassy Theme so I have gone for Cliff Richard - The Millenium Prayer released on November 15th 1999 and subsequently reaching number 1 for 2 weeks on December 4th.

That's '98 from a '98 album. Doesn't qualify.

I'm going for this classic:

Goo Goo Dolls - Iris - though it was a close run thing, I nearly went for Placebo's Every You Every Me.

Well in my defence the song was listed as the 86th most popular song of 1999.

As for you Sidders and your terse attitude, Why not go take your head for a shit, twat.

Moby - Porcelain

Not such a big fan of him nowadays, but certainly from "Play" this would be one of my favourites for the year:

EDIT: Rubbish, just checked and I don't think Percelain was released until 2000.... so in that my choice would be Moby again "Why does my heart feel so bad" :

I wasn't being terse, merely letting you know your choice is not valid.

Got the CD in my cupboard somewhere, but I don't think this single was released until 2000... it was the album that was out in 99 :(

Was quite a few decent singles from the album, i remember it was just after he'd redone the James Bond theme as well for "Tomorrow Never Dies" (I think it was) with Jonathan Pryce (spelling?) playing the media baron baddie. That single is another random one i've got lying about.

Play was obviously a very good album and Moby is a talented bloke, but it's not really to my tastes.

Ah, there I never knew you were in change and could deem what is and isn't valid.

I stand most humbled and corrected with my invalid choice.

Oh and congratulations on your promotion to host.

John22 wrote:2. Songs are deemed to be 'from' the year if they were released as a single, made the top 40 in that year, were included in an album from that year or that made the top 40 that year or were remixed, rerecorded, covered or re-released during that year. Exceptions may be made, within reason.

Why do I have to be in charge to point out the rules?

Oh and catherine, it was 1998 and I'm fairly sure both Topher and Gaspode made the same choice.
