According to the BBC site, Will Ferrell is in again on December 1st. That's a bit soon after his last visit; it wasn't that long ago he was on promoting The Other Guys. Anyone know why he's in?

Never heard of him tbh.

Chris was trying very hard to be his friend though!

No he's not.

I have and it's very very much overrated.

I love the film Anchorman. :)
Not fussed on most of his other films though, although Elf had it's moments, and is a good family film (and has one of my favourite actresses in it).

Arguing that something is overrated is a waste of time.
Both the movie charts and the music charts is full of stuff that I think is rubbish, but someone is buying them, and they'd probably think that the bands I like were rubbish.
Trying to make that sort of argument over the Internet is doubly useless.

Anyone having trouble getting today's show on the iPlayer?
And only a day after Chris mentioned the days shows being up 40 minutes after airing (although he did say supposedly, so he's aware how poor the backroom staff can be some days.)

Given that they've met quite a few times before and supposedly got on really well, I thought he was a dull guest today.

Clearly it's not a fact that Anchorman is overrated, it's subjective - I didn't feel the need to write 'in my opinion' because I thought most people would get that. Stating an opinion is what having a discussion is all about.

anchorman does have some funny bits but to call will ferrell a "living legend" is absurd. the guy is ok but all of his films are so average and my anger is compounded by people saying he is a legend because of a few good quotable lines from a film. saying hes a living legend sounds like something edith bowman would say! i did hear the interview when he was on a few months ago and it was amusing but the bit he did doing the news wasnt funny at all and then all day on radio1 you had trails of it playing out with people like fearne and greg going "did you hear that this morning utterly hilarious!!" err no mildly entertaining is all!! argh!!!!

You need to watch some of his Saturday Night Live stuff. In my opinion he is a living legend, I think he is very funny, I agree that some of his films are absolute rubbish

You have no idea how much your post angers me - I want to write 'LOL!!', but I have NO IDEA of what else I can substitute that with.

Dave admitted that he didn't think it went as well as he had hoped.

Regarding Ferrell and his films, I have only ever seen about a quarter of Anchorman and that is it. I didn't like what I did see and if that is the best film he has been in then I don't want to see the rest. That said, I think he is a good guest on the show.
