The Twitter on my phone (HTC desire) is annoying me. It used to be when I clicked a link I could press the back button and go back to Twitter but now it just takes me back to the last internet site. Any ideas?

About this not in general...

Don't pretend you know what one of them is - you have only just got electricity in Portsmouth.

Sidders - I only did it last night and now it is working properly. I have had to re-learn how to use my phone again.

Update normally solves all. As well as turning it off and back on again.

I never noticed it before. Damn useful though, I could have done with that earlier when I was in the attic, but only just noticed it now you've said.

When you say the Twitter on your phone do you mean the Twitter app? Or HTC Peep? Or are you actually accessing Twitter on the net (and if so, why?)...

It was the Twitter app but the update has sorted it. It was really annoying.

I've had loads of problems with the app, sometimes it won't update my timeline at all and sometimes notifications randomly stop. I have to revert to using Peep for a while every few weeks or so while it sorts itself out. That said, I think it has been okay since the update.

It now puts a little green number next to how many mentions you have.

Whats still shit is how you can't set the media level differently for the various phone settings (Normal, Vibrate, silent). GET IT SORTED HTC/ORANGE!

My Blackberry refuses to download the app for some reason, I get to language selection & then it fails after that, it's bloody annoying however I can still view it on there even if it is the mobile version of the standard site.

It's actually Google that need to sort it. I'm not sure what you mean though?

Do you mean different profiles, i.e. one for silent, one for driving, one for meeting, one for extra loud etc?

I've personally never had any problem with simply setting the ringer volume to silent when you don't want it to ring.

It seems I will have to explain this for the hard of thinking. When I am in work I set my phone to vibrate rather than be one of those ignorant twats in the office who let their phones ring repeatedly really loud and then shout personal conversations down them. When I change it to vibrate I feel the media settings on it should also change to what I require (i.e. silent) but the media settings act independently of the profiles.

Download Twicca, much better for Twitter use than the official Twitter for Android application.

Yes, I must admit that is a bit annoying.

I've tried Peep, Twidroyd and Seesmic and all found them much of a muchness, Twitter just looks nicer aesthetically. Twicca looks from the comments like it's written by someone whose first language isn't English, which worries me a bit...

Why would that worry you? It's not just us and Americans who can write apps for phones.
