Hi all,

My regular random monthly questions about the show..

Anyway, was just wondering from you knowledgable geeks, whether carrie will be coming back to the show - its unfortunate that sam has replaced rachel :( - but tina has got to be still on a temporary contract?

Give me good news please :)

There was a thread about her a few weeks ago somewhere on here.

Personally I prefer Tina. The show has moved on and there was no mention of her absence being temporary when she left, at least I can't remember any?

I miss the speed Carrie used to read at. Bullseye music last week gave the bulletins some vibrance.

I miss Carrie, mainly because she actually knew something about sport.

She knew simple stuff like where teams play which is more than Tina and you would have thought the sort of thing that somebody whose job is sport should know

Carrie was much more fun than Tina. Tina has come out of her shell more, but I am finding her shrieks everytime she screws up in a game/quiz/feature really really really........really annoying!

Tina is ok, no problems with her at all, but I do prefer Carrie. And DaveBedford's avatar has made me go out and buy crackers.

Nothing wrong with Tina, from knowlegde the only ex-team members to return to the show are Rhys (who went from Producer to Executive Producer), Will (who only appears now when they're doing any filming & Dominic (who technically wasn't a team member before the Breakfast Show & was more a "fill in relief" for Carolyn Atkinson or Claire Kavaner.

Carrie was great but the show has moved on, her maternity leave doesn't finish until February & I'd imagine she'd end up working somewhere else at the BBC (BBC Sport or Five Live), if she decides to return at all.

I rather like Tina myself, she's coming out of her shell more now :)

She knew who Frank Lampard and John Terry were, but that's about it. There was no other substance to her bulletins, and I seem to remember her whittering on about baseball, assuming that the score was the number of home runs hit and other such lightweight airheadery.

Yes Carrie was a lot of fun, but Tina's an upgrade, and for me the show's improved since she came along. And I don't know how to say that without sounding mean.

I've never noticed Tina's shrieks! Like I had never noticed some habit Dom has that was mentioned recently. It's funny how these things are picked up by some people.

Remember Carrie took a while for some people to warm to. Once Tina has been in the show the same length of time I am sure her contribution to the team dynamic will have evolved into something better.

The cream cracker habit is a slippery slope. I somehow got into the 26p reduced fat tesco own brand cream crackers and I eat a packet a day now. I always come out of tesco with at least 12 packets. There are worse things to be addicted to I suppose.

Take it easy,

I wonder if rachel not being there will have any influence on whether Carrie would like to return, she may feel that the show dynamic has changed too much. Im personally fond of Carrie and Tina so dont have a real preference, tho i do feel Tina is starting to come out of her shell more!

I believe the team all had lunch with Carrie a few weeks ago!

Aled was asked recently about whether Carrie would return and he said it was up to her. I like Tina and I think she has slotted into the show extremely well, but if I had a choice I would probably pick Carrie. Say what you like about Carrie's knowledge of sport, but she knows far more than Tina.

Tina seems to play a more active role in the show than Carrie but, I don't know, I just think I would rather have Carrie back, but if not, Tina is fine and she has definitely been a welcome addition to the show.

EDIT: I don't particularly agree that the show has moved on, certainly not to the extent that it would cause a problem if Carrie were to return. She would just slot back in without any real problems. Thinking about it though, there probably wouldn't be any real point in returning to the show as it seems increasingly likely it will end next June/July anyway.

Yep, Travis Bickle I asked the question to Aled on Formspring! :)

I would like to see Carrie return to the show, but it would be odd with her just returning. That said I do like Tina, I really do, she's been coming into her own for a while now. So to say goodbye to her would be a shame.

This is what I found about Carrie. Even Rachel told her to stop screaming once or twice.

It was on the Ask Aled section on here that I read it. viewtopic.php?f=48&t=17761&start=980

I was told that cream crackers, any brand, are very high in fat or something (the bloke had a bad heart who told me)

I love them spread with butter and cheese and a nice crispy apple myself.

The tesco low fat crackers have 14g of fat per packet, which is quite high but slightly more than a packet of crisps.

To be honest I don't particularly miss Carrie. I didn't think she really added that much to the show, and that Tina is a perfectly adequate replacement.
