The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I've seen the trailers. It looked to me like it was a massively contrived attempt to humiliate someone with their consent whilst everyone points and laughs. Well, I don't like Big Brother either.

Not seen it as I do not have the chanel its on.

But from the trailers, I agree with you. Ricky Gervais seems to like humiliate his work colleges. This is shown on one of his dvds not sure what one tho.

I agree that it looks like an ill-conceived load of crap. They've been trailing it like crazy on Sky - well, they are inbetween The Simpsons at least.

I heard Chris talking about this a couple of days ago and decided that it would be a good watch. I've got it, but I haven't watched it yet. I've loved everything Ricky Gervais has done to this point, so I can't imagine that I wouldn't like this one.

You've obviously not seen much then, I'm afraid. Other than The Office (and, to an extent, Extras), he is pretty dire.

I've watched the first episode of this series and I'm reserving judgement on it for now.

And why is this not in Ramble?

Agreed, we watched the 2nd one last night and it was funny, informative, and the worst part about was Gervais, but he's not in it much.

Karl is funny on his own, he's Pub funny, and I like the program.

I think they shoehorn Merchant and Gervais into it as the are afraid of not having their names attached. Its interesting because it shows the other side of going to these places as well as the interesting parts. His bit on the Great Wall of China sounded spot on to me.

Agreed - it has hardly anything to do with them does it? Enjyoing it very much though - it's sometimes an uncomfortable watch as are most Gervais productions :)

Love "The Ricky Gervais Show" too - the animated versions of the Gervais/Merchant/Pilkington podcasts. Very well animated indeed and the animation gives it an extra dimension. Very enjoyable.

That was shown in Paul Merton 'Abroad' shows.

Now they were excellent.

Did anyone else read this as if it were Duncan Bannatyne? "So for that reason, i'm oot."

I think that's exactly what I don't like about it. "Pub funny" is spontaneous by nature and cannot be pre-written and replicated for a TV show. When people try to do that it becomes painful and cringeworthy.

I am old school, I don't think there is a script for Karl see, thats why I think it's funny.

Pub Funny scripted = Lee Mack, tplapap, Al Murry, Top Gear.

Pub Funny not scripted = Karl P, or own Moyles & Co, Coxy!.

Not Funny Scripted = Scott Mills!!!!!!

I am probably wrong, but its about my personal perception, and the little world I live in is hilarious.

Having a script is not a bad thing in itself.
