Yerah, I agree, its a text thing. No other R1 show gets the volume of text that Mr C does. 41,000 names texted in! I have been doing, but the odds of gettign read out are slim at best.

Like the song, but as a feature its a little lacking.

To be honest, I have no feeling either way regarding the feature itself. It's obviously popular if so many are sending in texts for it. I don't like the underlying song though, but that's personal preference.

I think it's one of those features where "you had to be there" at the unscripted creation of it, like Nana Window. Then it's quite good.

I disagree with you on this when you apply that to The Duck Register. People are texting in to get their names read out, not to compliment the feature or discuss it. Outside of the people who text in I would be amazed if there is any significant support for it. How can thee be anything entertaining in it for anyone else? There is simply no enjoyment factor to hearing strangers names read out to a piece of music.

Also, how could anyone with normal, common first and second names be sure that it was their name read out and not some other, random Steven Thompson who also text in.

Ahhh - I think I actually heard the beginning of when they came up with it, but because I didn't know the name of the group and didn't know they'd turned it into a feature, is didn't register that that was it.

It was a tongue in cheek comment, designed to illustrate that almost all the DJs push that text number to a greater extent than it really merits.
