The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Oh my god, what a load of over-reactions.

Isn't Radio 1 aimed at sniveling teenagers to young adults.....? The 16-25 age category?

If so, why the outrage? If you can find one single 16 year old student who is unfamiliar with the terminology the dizzzzzzzzeee used, I'll eat Yudster. Without ketchup.

I'll concede its perhaps not the best subject for someone woofing their Cheerios, but otherwise I don't see what the fuss is about.

It's nothing to do with their target audience, it's to do with who might conceivably might be listening. I'm well out of target and I was - so what's to say 6-10 yr olds weren't too? It may 'go over their heads', as people keep saying, but it may not. They may spend all day asking their parents to explain what Dizzee meant when they're not ready to do so. That's why we have age recommendations on theatre shows - it's what 'parental guidance' means. People should know roughly what to expect from Moyles' show and be able to judge on that basis whether it's appropriate listening for their kids, and when people like Dizzee wander way over that line, people get offended. I wasn't, but that doesn't mean I think what he said was okay for breakfast radio.

I think tantric sex must get dead boring. I really wouldn't want to have to wait that long. My favourite kind of sex is The Unexpected Quickie.

Long foreplay is dull. I tend to lose interest.

Hmm...i'm talking about over exposing children to things and then this discussion starts when I know a regular poster is 12 years old. This is general section not ramble.

Well, I believe that anyone under a certain age has to have parental permission to sign up to a forum, this one included. If this was a children's forum, I would agree, but it isn't. If a child is using it, I will assume he has his parents' permission and if they're ok with it, so am I.

i've read nothing inappropriate yet to be fair, except the terms sex and foreplay (which are pretty general, and non graphic).

now if we want it to get inappropriate...

So you would say everything you've said in this thread infront of a 12 year old? (Or a 13 year old for that matter if you want to take into account the age you don't need permission to join the forum.) Ramble holds a warning about things before entering, General doesn't and should be safe to read by anyone and be Moyles related.

if i was in a public place, and i was having this conversation already (which i believe is an appropriate analogy, it could even be extended to a 'pub' environment during the day where children are allowed to enter without constant adult supervision) - and a 12 year old wandered by, i'd probably be okay with the content of the conversation as it was. fair enough though, i thought the conversation was pretty light hearted and fairly innocent, but i'm not going to go to the lengths of creating an new thread about sex.

interestingly, a similar situation popped up at reading festival, where a father (early 30s) had camped in the main section, very close to our campsite - with two boys (between 11-13). whilst we felt bad that the content of our conversation and activities weren't quite suitable for them, we had to make the decision whether we were to censor ourselves constantly - or allow them to occasionally be exposed to what we were saying. we chose the second option, otherwise it would have hindered our enjoyment in a major way.

so anyone who wishes to discuss the benefits and pitfalls of delayed gratification (with regards to carnal avenues), or even their preferences when it comes to those sorts of activities (be they hasty, unexpected or even just related to preparations before the focal activity itself) - feel free to call me, you'll find my number in your local telephony cubicle.

i'd happily say that sentence in front of a 12 year old.

also, i'm now acknowledging that this is an argument that was most unwise to inflame.

I am glad you are upholding moral standards in your household because we know all about Topher and a certain Travis song....

I heard it live and nearly dropped my cup of tea! I thought it was hilarious, clumsy and out of place but hilarious!

You can tell he meant no malice and didnt understand what he had done by the way he kept on asking if he could finish his story!

Then he is very very stupid. Which I think maybe isn't that much of a surprise.
