Nah, Microsoft is definitely worse than Apple.

Apple are the most evil in the world.....but I wont be able to convince you, they have already injected you with the mind poison which makes you think they are so good and so nice!

They're all evil. Apple has a great trick of making your totally dependent on them for everything. The day I gave up iTunes was the day I reclaimed my life.

My ex works for Windows Mobile. I feel bad for him.

I don't think they're good and nice, just the lesser of two evils. The trouble with Apple is they make great products and they do it well, this makes people want to buy every product they have on offer and every upgrade.

Microsoft dominate simply by market saturation, not because of a lack of any better alternatives. It's very difficult to buy a PC running anything but Windows. In fact I bet the majority of Joe Public wouldn't know they could have a PC running anything but Windows.

I dont agree. Apple is the current "in brand" and they have done that by convincing some people that paying more for an Apple product makes them look.....whats the word.....its not cool, I think its cultured. They have always appealed to The Guardian readersand the libby lefties. I dont doubt the ipod and iphones are very good, but I dont think they are the best by a long way.......but I also dont think microsoft is the best, I just prefer Microsoft because they aren't, in my opinio, quite as bad as Apple

I don't agree. I think Apple have become big in the last few years on merit by creating some very good and popular products. Microsoft are just there by default because there's no other option, (even though there are other options, yet people don't realise, are too lazy to shop around and are too used to Microsoft to want to try anything different).

why are microsoft the only option? Because they do make very good products and have always made good products. Apple where big in the 80s and then lost out to microsoft and almost went out of business. The value of Apple is currently greater than Microsoft, but turnover wise they are tiny in comparison. As I said, I feel microsoft are the lesser of two evils.

This is because I dont agree in paying a huge amount extra for something that does the same job.

I agree that there are alternativesand some of them are very good.

OK, so where can I buy a PC or laptop (that isn't a Mac) which doesn't have Windows installed?

Taking things out of context us great, except when your taking something out of context that is on the same page!

Google is your friend

Anyway, like I said, we are not going to agree as Apple have brain washed you. So lets just agree to disagree

I do feel like that sentence is the feed line in an advert.

Have you managed to get your Desire yet Gaspode? Orange have been out of stock for fecking ages, and I'm starting to get pretty pissed off. I was told they were going to be back in stock yesterday but they still don't have any.

I think you're lieing. Either that or Orange give priority to new rather than loyal customers which wouldn't surprise me.

I've been put on a 'back orders' list, with no indication about how long I will be waiting. Apparently the phones arrive in 'dribs and drabs'.

Why don't you change network? Pretty much all of them value new business over loyal customers, they're banking on you being lazy and not changing.

I used to work for Orange, and they do give priority to new customers and those threatening to leave.

If say you want to cancel your contract, they will put you through to the retention team who will miraculously be able to get you the phone the next day on a better than advertised contract, especially if you have been a loyal customer for more than 24 months.

Trouble is, although I can upgrade now, my contract doesn't end until the end of November. Does this make any difference?

Hmmm....yes! They will just say you have to buy out of your contract or come back to when your in the final 30 days of your ocntract.

You could go to the phones4u and they will buy you out of your contract and set up a new contract for you, but you will lose your current number.

plus you will ahve to phone orange to cancel, but before you cancel, ask to lower your contract one proce point as it will save you £5 a month

Can't be arsed with the hassle of changing my number, so looks like I'll have to wait.

I see from your facebook that you have a new phone, it's just whether you're on Orange or not. All the same, I'll give in to the pressure and follow you on twitter.
