Some people are really * me off on here now.
The criticism of Vernon and some of the team is completely unwarranted and very harsh.
The CMS is a completely different style to that of his Saturday morning show, the addition of a team and longer links isn't just something you can slot into. He laughed along with the team and made the team laugh, along with me, the crabs link being one example.
When Chris was doing Kilamanjaro, by the Thursday/Friday of that week he was doing pretty much the length of links that Chris does, and doing them well. The team and Vernon had little or no preparation time for Tuesday's show so it wasn't going to be perfect. As for the technical things, I'm not sure what people mean, it wasn't terrible, the songs and news were introduced without a problem. God forbid he didn't do the "Hello", "International Radio 1" bit. He may not have played the "outs" quite right but Chris has been doing this every day for nearly 7 years now. Give him a different situation and even he may make an error or two.
If you don't like Vernon's personality/style then fine, that's your opinion but to call him childish names and constantly criticse the team isn't fair
As for the whole "Dave should be able to do it", Dave isn't suited for the main presenting role, I work in Marketing and if asked, I couldn't just switch roles and know everything there is to know about the new role, even if I've been working at this place for a long time. Unless people are shown/trained how to do things, it's difficult to just know how to do stuff by casually watching something else do it.
People on here need to stop whinging and accept that not everything can be perfect in unexpected circumstances
