What's the deal with Dom? Something is going on and I fear it's to do with him leaving the show. And not from his choice - through being pushed.

Little things have been said over the last couple of weeks but if you iPlayer todays show from about 6 minutes in the team are talking about the dark early mornings and Chris says to Dom, you'll be done by Christmas. And Dom says "Yeah, I can have a lie in in January".

Obviously the show is on air for another 12 months so what is going on? Dom has become an intregal part of the show. He appeals to me and i'm 18 years old. To see him leave would be horrible.

They can't get rid of Dom, he's hilarious. He's quietly hilarious, but still hilarious.

What would be the reason? He's about the same age as Chris and Dom. Maybe he's leaving of his own accord?

Well from what it seems on the show and what Chris has been saying, Dom seemingly doesn't appeal or relate to the target audience.

If you think back over the recent weeks, Chris has been talking about the ongoing contract negotiations, making regular jokes about how he may not even be there by the end of the week, never mind the next world cup.

Recently he announced that he'd signed his contract, and that Dave had too, and said that Dom hadn't yet.
Then came the jokes about Dom leaving, and being finished by Christmas, pretty much the same as he was saying about himself while his contract was still in negotiation.

So, for me, it's just a case of Dom's contract not expiring until December, so it isn't as imminent as Dave's and Chris' was, and the team are using it as a source for material.

My crystal ball says that at some point in August, they will announce on the show that Dom has signed his new contract.
You can applaud me then.

EDIT: Btw, I think Dom is a very important part of the team, and between Dom, Dave and Chris, they have had me in tears of laughter several times over the years.
I don't think the show is anywhere near as good when one of them is missing, so let's hope he isn't leaving.
The BBC have made enough stuff-ups recently, so here's hoping they don't make another one.

I think everyone else is replaceable though.

There seems to be a real posibility Dom may not be there for much longer and I for one would miss him a hell of a lot. I hope its as the above poster decribed and Dom ends up staying for as long as Chris does.

Dom reminds me a bit of Will & in my opinion the Chris, Dave & Will line up was one of the best ever. It has been sad losing most of the members of the shows over the years (Melinda, Rhys, Lizzie & Will in particular) and if Dom was to go he'll be hugely missed.

However Aled has cleared this up so there's no worries
