The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Don't patronise me. Do you really think that I dont know that whether Chris Moyles turns up on time isnt even amongst the top million important issues in the world? By that token we all may as well give up discussing any subject that doesn't involve issues of life and death. Forget sport, music, politics, literature, architecture, philosophy etc . By your logic we may as well all give up now.

I have a near perfect perspective on life, foot-loose, and my opinions on Chris Moyles and his show are kept firmly in their place. I just trust that when I express my views on here that the reader also appreciates that my views, and anybody else's for that matter are said in context.

I thought that was a given. Clearly I was wrong.

What if he doesn't turn up at all (like the Ginger One)? Does that not show contempt for your listeners, staff, the station and the show?

In fact, didn't our Chris miss a day when he was up in Leeds watching a match some time?

How many missing shows is acceptable? Once a year? Once a week?

It's not acceptable to turn up late, and it's ludicrous to try to deny that. Can presenters of live TV shows show up late?

Thought this thread may crop up after hearing him in late, although I decided not to start it this time so as to seem to be attacking Chris.

I'm with Travis. Its not the worlds nost important issue, far from it, but i'm still a firm believer in 'better never than late'. As has already been pointed out, we're only human and things do sometimes go wrong. But what grates is the apparent lack of planning to not fail. I understand Chris' argument about his bedtime, he claims he wants a social life - wassup with Friday and Saturday night?! When ya gotta drag ya carcass outa bed at 0600 (or earlier) you don't stay up playing *-box till 0100.... When I stroll into work (before CM show starts) I'm here on my todd, no one would even notice if I was an hour late. Chris has hundreds of thousands awaiting his arrival, if not more. People who listen because it ths Chris Moyles show. I know a load of us don't even bother when Chris isn't in, me included. Hence the annoyance when the CM Show doesn't include CM. Without him it may as well be Snott Mills. Sleeping in the same location you're working lessens the excuses for lateness even more. Shame.

As I pointed out last time, Chris would rant his arse off if any other team member was late. I love Chris and his entertainment legacy, but I always feel lateness shows a lack of respect to his loyal fans.

Completely agree, but realistically if we can't talk about it here, on the Chris Moyles site, where can we? If we were all obsessing about it to our families, freinds and work colleagues, and (for those of you misguided enough to partake) putting it all over Facebook that we hate it when he's late, then you have a point - but this IS the place to do it. Its a Moyles-specific place, this is, so if we have an opinion about Moyles, this is where its going to get talked about.

Travis and Tim are right. By the way.

We can talk about it, we can have our own opinions on it, I just don't get why people seem to get emotionally wound up about it.

"It's pish when Chris is late, the show doesn't sound as good" is one thing. "It's rediculous - how dare he be late, I would get sacked for this, he has responsibilities etc etc shouty shouty" is another.

Wasn't it Chris's idea to start the show at 6:30 rather than 6:55? What if it is in his contract that he can start at any point between 6:30 and 7:00, as long as he is on air by 7? I doubt it is, but I don't know - neither does anyone else.

foot-loose, we are never going to agree on this, and I think you are just trying despreately hard to find a justification to say that it doesnt particularly bother you when Chris is late.

I cant really add to Yudsters last post, because it was spot on, but I will anyway. Whether it was Chris or R1 who decided to start at 06:30 is irrelevant. The show starts at that time and that is all that matters.

This is an issue that should be pretty clear in my opinion. The only person that is late for the show at all, let alone on a regular basis is Chris. He does it because it simply doesnt matter enough to him that his genuine fans will be disapointed and that his friends and colleagues who always get into work earlier than him anyway, and are on time have to cover for him.

It is not pleasant having to get up early in the morning but a lot of us do it including the Moyles team. There is no justification Chris not putting himself out a bit and getting into work on time.

I aint asking you to agree but I do think you are missing my point somewhat. Plus, why would I try "desperately hard" do find a justification to something that doesn't bother me?

I'm not getting sucked into a big arguement on this with you. I like you, I don't want to fight.

Peace and love, peace and love. 8)

I thought you were trying too hard to simply say that it doesnt bother you when Moyles is late and were taking a pompous attitude in putting it forward, but yes no fighting here.

Peace and love indeed :D

Interestingly enough if Chris Moyles does have trouble waking up in the morning I'm suprised that he doesn't do what Chris Tarrant did & pre-record the first half hour of the show, the only problem when Tarrant did that though was that it was blatantly obvious when the link was pre-recorded

Oh dear, the opening link this morning is worth a re-listen, we've really upset Chris..... Long opening rant. I feel we've let him down a little. I stand by my view point, but feel i've upset a close friend.

Chris, we know you work so hard for the show, no one was belittling your input in general. Just narks a few of us when we're here listening and your not there to entertain us..... If no one liked/loved you, we wouldnee give a flying *.

I just read this thread and I think I would like to bill this forum for 20 minutes of my life back. So Chris is late... so what? If him being late enrages then I can only recommend either:

A) Anger Management Classes
B) A Re-Ordering of Priorities
or
C) We tone down out blantant fanboyism and return to a more realistic logic.

Crap happens then you die. You'll be late for work, I've been wait to work, Chris has been late to work. It happens, and just because Chris is guilty of it every once in a while doesn't make it a misdemeanor or felony, nor does it make it the beginning of the end of the world.

Long Story Short: Get Over Yourselves.
