Now, I've always listened to the show on iPlayer after I have finished work, but I'm off for two weeks (Paternity Leave, but where is the baby?!?!? Grrrr he will be here soon!) Anyhow, even when I'm on holiday my alarm is set to 6:25 to catch the show and I have to enjoy this mornings show was extremely enjoyable! Whether it was the fact that it was Chris' first show back in London in over 3 weeks, or the Big Weekend Announcement I do not know........... Regarding the Big Weekend announcement, I must say the way it was set out was great! Zane telling us who was on the INMUWT stage and then Chris following it up with the Main Stage acts, it worked very, very well I think, so well done to Chris on a job well done!
As for the Big Weekend acts, they are...........

The Sunday line up is piss poor.

They normally add an act nearer the time (they did it with Madonna) so hopefully there is someone to beef up Sunday.

Hmmm - on Saturday I would only be interested in Florence (her records leave me cold but she's the best live performer I've ever seen). On the Sunday, well, Biffy Clyro will be good and I do love Paulo Nutella. But a whole day in a field with only portaloos for relief - I'm not sure even Paulo could tempt me to that. Plus its in Wales - I'm not sure I'm allowed in there.

Yeah, i kinda agree. I've registered for tickets, but with view to it being a jolly day out, no one artist on that list suckers me in. Would be nice to see Cheryl tweedy I suppose.

If I am lucky enought to get tickets, i'll prob dedicate my day to stalking Chris n team for a photo/chat....

And Wales is beautiful, well, mostly.

I have better things to do than to stand in a big field watching Cheryl Tweedie lip sync her way through a mini-set. I like her records, but bearing in mind she (supposedly) proved she can sing by actually going through the whole Pop Idol process I think its disgraceful that these days she just doesn't bother. Miming a live set is CHEATING. Its wrong.

Having said that - I love Cheryl's records, have no time for her live - I have no time for Florence Welsh's records, but love her live. Maybe its a cosmic balance thing?!

I went through a dance phase a few years back and did Creamfields... I've since finished that particular phase, but if there's one act that I've liked ever since, it's Faithless. Also, Lostprophets are great.

Why? Everyone in Wales speaks English and not all of them speak Welsh.

Because it's the law Topher and I actually know a LOT of people in Wales who can only speak very basic English and can't read it at all.

By the way, not in the mood to rise to the bait today ;)

Most of Welsh is English anyway. Theyhaven't got words for so many things, they just spell the English phonetically as if they were being pronounced with a strong Welsh accent!

With regard to the comment "Miming a live set is CHEATING. Its wrong." although I agree I did hear Chris and the team on the radio this morning saying that they pre recorded a DJ set for Privilege Ibiza three weeks before hand and then pretended they were actually mixing the records on the night by rotating 3 of the same records.... to me and any dedicated club DJ that I know this is exactly the same as miming a song :) so maybe practice what you preach?

I know this has been mentioned in other threads, but where is the Big Weekend line-up for this year? I am sure they usually do it early March?
I wonder if they are moving the date this year or something?
