It could take a few days for him to get back then!

Well hasent Chris said several times how he would love to bring the show back to NYC...With BBC studios in New York I guess now is his chance.

I wonder is Aled digging out the 'live from New York City' jingles for Tuesday as we speak!

But we'll be able to get our backup plans in place by Tuesday. So the show will be back on then regardless - not with the whole team but we'll manage :)

Why carn't Chris do it via a phone ? We seem to be getting a lot of that recently

Doeas that mean Vernon is being called up? From Twitter etc I take it it's Chris and Dom that are stuck as you and Dave are both in the country. Assuming Rachel is still covering for Piers.

To summarise.

Chris is stranded in New York and is trying to contact Sirius to organise a studio for Tuesday.
Dominic is in Majorca and is hoping to get back for Thursday

Dave, Aled and Tina are available to do the show as normal, hopefully from TUESDAY morning.

Oh God, I'm listening to LBC instead of Radio 1. I'm 16. I can't stand Mills, Becky makes the show a little less annoying. I wonder if the listener numbers have gone down over Easter because of Moyles' holiday?

I've been enjoying Scott, Becki and Tina today. If anyone did listen, was Comedy Dave on the phone at 7.15 this morning or did I dream it?

I also heard Chris on the Surgery last night. I really hope he can broadcast from New York tomorrow - it would make an interesting show.

Yah, I heard Chris on the surgery too. Also, as Johnny 1989 said once, I'll try and find the actual quote somewhere, of Johnny if you could help me out with this, he wrote somewhere:

AARRGGHH, THE MILLS, THE MILLS!!!

"Chris Moyles misses show because of ash cloud

Radio 1 breakfast show presenter Chris Moyles has missed his morning show after being grounded in the US because of the volcanic cloud.

DJ Scott Mills stepped into his shoes, telling listeners: "Chris Moyles is stuck, stranded - imagine that."

Speaking on Sunday, Moyles described the situation as "a very, very surreal [but] kind of pleasant nightmare".

Drifting ash from the volcanic eruption in Iceland has disrupted flights in and out of Europe since last week.

Travel chaos

Moyles - who was due to return to the UK on Saturday - told listeners to the late night Sunday Surgery show: "It started to become apparent to us on Thursday that actually it was worse than we thought.

"It's now like I live here - we've run out of pants and socks, I've run out of deodorant.

"I'm going to have to get my pants and socks laundered at the hotel."

The award-winning DJ added that satellite radio service Sirius Radio, which broadcasts Radio One in the US, "have studios in New York, so I'm going to see if I can get a studio and work and still do the show."

Flights in and out of the UK have now been cancelled for a fifth day, with knock-on effects for the entertainment industry.
Miley Cyrus
Cyrus is a singer and star of US childrens' television

Filming on the new series of Dragon's Den has been postponed as judge Peter Jones is stuck in Barbados.

Actress Demi Moore is unable to attend UK press interviews for her new film The Joneses; and the London premiere of Miley Cyrus's new film The Last Song has been cancelled.

British singer-songwriter Newton Faulkner is stranded in Hong Kong and has had to postpone several European shows, while US singers Usher and Adam Lambert are unable to carry out promotional duties in Europe.

Meanwhile, pop diva Whitney Houston was forced to catch a car ferry to Ireland over the weekend to perform at Dublin's O2 arena. "

Moyles isn't the only one stuck in New York. I'm here with my family too. It's actually not too bad.... can think of worse places to be!!!!

Chris... if you need a new co-host while you're here, get in touch ;) We have spare deodorant too! Although it's Lynx so it might be better if it was Dave who was stuck here......

Just saw a tweet from Aled saying they still don't know if they can do the show tomorrow. Ack! And yeah, I can imagine NY isn't a bad place to be stranded. Better than Poland...

Aled has just Tweeted saying that they are not sure about tomorrow. If Chris can't do it then get Vernon in with the team, better than nothing right?

Uh oh...

from Aleds twitter.
4pm UK time and we STILL don't know if we can make it happen and get The Chris Moyles Show on air tomorrow.

You would have thought it would be relatively easy to set up a line even from the BBC studios in NYC but obviously not. Or maybe with Chris in the states on a tourist visa waiver perhaps technically hes not meant to be working from there, just a guess!

Lets be honest, whether he can broadcast from NY or not, I doubt he is not that much upset about being stuck in New York, if I was him I would'nt be, he can afford the extra days stay, I bet he loves it. But I hope he can broadcast tomorrow, the thought of Scott Mills continuing for a few more days is not good, want him to just go away back to afternoons when I listen to someone else.

I have only been listening a couple of years really so I don't know much of the history of the show, but hasn't Dave been with the show since the start?

Why doesn't Dave head the show with the rest of the team? Surely watching Chris all these years he has picked it up by now? If not, what's the point in having a sidekick if he can't take the reins in an emergency!?

Come on, it HAS to be better than MIlls :(

 That was the phrase, I think, it's a play on a line from Series 1 of The Simpsons where Marge & Homer go off for a romantic night & the choice of Video is the Happy Little Elves, Bart's reaction is:

"D'ooh!, The Elves, THE ELVES!"
