Sorry I'm starting up another computer related thread, but just a quickie, for the last half hour I've been looking for a free Real Audio (RA) to MP3 converter, I have found some but each one is limited in what they can convert.

I was just wondering if anyone knew of a decent, free RA>MP3 converter, it's just that I have two 2004 Chris Moyles shows that I want to edit & unfortunately they're both in RA format for some reason.

Help, as ever, is greatly appreciated :)

I like Wavepad, it does everything, you only need open real audio in it and it'll all be there. But mainly I like Wavepad cos I can piss about with the audio with a range of effects.

MPlayer has the ability to dump the audio of anything that has audio - the Windows version should allow this, but if it doesn't you can always set-up a Cygwin environment and do it there.

The command for the dump is as follows: -

Code: Select allmplayer -vc dummy -vo null -ao pcm:file=dump.wav "rm file name here"

The outputted file should open in Audacity, which you can then edit and convert (NB: If you do set-up a Cygwin environment (or get Linux) then I have a script that will convert directly from .rm (or any media file) to .mp3).
