As a huge motoring enthusiast, with What Car subscription, I love cars. But I have one of these. So, what cars do you lot have? Any cool features? Some details on the Escort

1.6 (1597cc) 4 cyl Petrol Engine
35 MPG Average
Radio Cassette 4000RDS
1 Airbag
Heated Rear Screen
Electric Front Windows
Manual Sunroof with blind
Steel Wheels
Metallic Paint

Making it sound like it's loaded with kit, when it doesn't really have that much. Cost £10,500 new, was £3,600 at a Ford garage in Aug.04 Wasn't too bad, although the only problem is it costs £190 to tax.

So, does anyone have a worse car than this? Also, would anyone like to nominate their car to be the best car here. Let me know.

I don't drive. I tried to learn once many years ago. It didn't go well.

I have an Italian hatchback with tinted windows and a fantastic aerodynamic package I installed myself.

I have several... My every day car is a company car, currently a MazdA 6TS2 2.0TD 142PS, goes well but needs work so they are replacing it with a brand new Mondeo Titanium. I also own a Jaguar XJS V12 5.3 HE Auto, used to go like shit of the shovel but is now in bits and written off (not my fault!). It's going on Ebay soon as I want another one. I also have an old Suzuki Grand Vitara which I am going to use for off roading but the head has gone and needs fixing, currently waiting for my bro to sort that for me.

Mrs Andy J has a bright yellow Mini Cooper S which is good fun. As you can see I like to be 'Green' :)

I got out the car on Monday to notice that there was a big bastard of a dent in the bonnet of the car, like something had fallen on it. I'm guessing maybes a slate off the house roof or summit. Anyways - it's getting fixed next week, but it's a shame. The car is pristine otherwise.

I quite like my car, understated performance. A collection of VW and Audi parts all wrapped up with a Skoda badge, and price tag. If its good enough for the old bill to use as a pursuit car, its good enough for me!

An Octavia vRS, running on LPG - which is nice and cheap (62p per litre). She has had a few subtle tweeks and mods under the bonnet and chuffs out a healthy 230bhp now, which is enough to trouble a Carerra 4, but nowhere near enough to trouble the Gallardo I came accross the other day..... 8O

Boostin'.

FORD FOCUS 1.6 GHIA

REVIEW

FOR: Great drive, well kitted, good seat support

AGAINST: Cabin plastics, bland looks, too noisy, short of storage places, stupidly high prices, heavy depreciation

Nice paint choice though.

Forgot to say, the Escort is a 2000 Flight model, 82k miles

We may have found a worse car than the Escort

It is indeed very comfy and fun to drive.

It's not too plasticy inside, possibly bland but I didn't want a boy racers nutmobile, it's certainly not too noisy, there's loads of cubby holes to keep shit in and I got a cracking deal on it with an agreed final settlement figure.

I'm a big fan of Fords in general. My next car will either be another Focus, a Fiesta or if I go mental, a Golf (Mum has one and it's a fun wee bugger to drive).

Sorry, forgot to say about the Focus, as WhatCar say, there's few better used buys. Forgot that there was wood effect on the dash. They only fitted it to cars registered before the Jan '08 facelift, and they may have changed the interior around a bit. The refinement issue though. There was a 106 bhp petrol engine, that was used up until Jan'08 then dropped, so newer engines may be noisier. It's not a bad car, however if it was my money, I would go and buy a Golf. It's about £2000 LESS than a new Focus.

Also, one other major + point for Ford, is that QuickClear windscreen

So yer review is on a car that isn't the same as mine? 8)

Yes. That on it's own is a major factor for me when I was buying it. The heated front screens are a blessing in winter.

I've not really looked into the new shape Focus yet, still got another year before I hand mine back. Ill start dealing with it then. Is it not still the most popular car in the UK though?
