Same here, I used to find her highly annoying in 2005, but I have grown to like her alot over the last two-three years, I do hope she makes a return to the show one day. I haven't heard Tina yet but imagine Chris & the team would pick someone who'd be up for doing things on the show rather than the sportsreaders of old, where some of them never spoek back to Chris after Newsbeat like the newsreaders did on the afternoons.

Quite a shrewd move picking somebody experienced with general news instead of somebody who can just do sport. Means that if Dom is off Tina can cover both news and sport in the same way that Dom covers the sport if Carrie is just off for the odd day or two and it's not worth getting Andy May in.

Being brutal though, do you need to know about sports?! Surely the ability to read accurately and speak clearly are the only two essential qualities?

I think Tina is fitting in ok, yeah, could be accused of trying a little to hard at the moment, but who doesn't when trying to fit in at a new job?!

Few more stories about what she wears in bed and such like, i'm sure she'll win us over....

Have to disagree her knowledge was decent but quite limited. Get her to discuss F1 for instance beyond the whole Jenson is nice etc superficial level and I'd think she'd struggle.

Now there are many other sports presenters around who equally don't have that breadth of knowledge and for an entertainment breakfast show on R1 it's probably not essential to be a complete 'statto' but it can be a little annoying when you can hear in the way they deliver certain stories they clearly don't have a clue about what they're reading.

As for Tina you can't judge after one show...

ok. Lets not judge her after 1 show. But lets see in a month or so when the rugby league gets in full flow. And when formula 1 gets going. Thats when we can start judging. For me carrie is a true sports person. But is tina just a normal newsreader?
