Come on then - a Christmas special. It's running concurrently with the other one because otherwise I'd have to make the winner pick Christmas specials instead, so I'm not doing that. The rule is that the song must have been in the top five for Christmas week on any particular year. I think this covers pretty much everything, but it is a bit of fun, so if there are any really Christmassy-themed songs that aren't covered by this criteria, then I don't mind too much. There will be a vote at the end, but that may be as much of a foregone conclusion as X-Factor getting Christmas number one every.... oh wait.

Lord Rockingham's XI - Hoots Mon. #1 the three weeks before Christmas, #2 Christmas week, 1958.

Since my first choice is already taken, I thought I'd take the x-factor route and go for the Scottish vote.

I Believe In Father Christmas by Greg Lake - no2 in Dec 1975.

My favourites have already gone, so I'm just putting in the one that was number one when I was born.....

Rolf Harris - Two Little Boys

The best Christmas Song in my opinion:

Wizzard - I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday

I wonder if Roy Wood would get away with shaking his fist at a child these days ;)

The one I wanted to choose - Gaudete by Steeley Span - only got to number 14, so i can't use that. Instead, my mist enduring favourite Christmas song, Saviour's Day by Cliff Richard. I don't like him either, but its a good song.

You can change if you want - Wikipedia says it's a "sacred Christmas carol", that's good enough for me.

Ok, I have to go very recent on this i'm afraid, because it's one of my all time favourite songs - Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

I'm going recent(ish) too. Since we were discussing this elsewhere, and for the little robot in the video...

The Darkness - Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)

One of the best Christmas #2s - there were actually a few - of the 2000s.

I'm going to take full advantage of Topher's Christmas spirit and not change, but have two! Here is Gaudete, by Steeleye Span.

Well..... go on then. Two each everyone, so if you've already picked, you can pick one more.

I was going to go for Stop the Cavalry if no one had it actually.

This always reminds me of Alan Partridge. "Here listen to this, it'll blow your socks off"

If we're allowed two I'll also have Lonely This Christmas by Mud, please. No1 in xmas 1974, was knocked off three days before the day I was born (16 January! Why were people still buying xmas songs in mid-Jan?) by Status Quo.

You can choose another nomination, but I am yet to decide whether or not it will make it more interesting if you can vote for two.
