What do I get my parents? They are old and don't like anything.

If they don't like anything then don't get them anything. Makes perfect sense to me.

Got all my presents, except me Mum's which I'm braving John Lewis or Selfridges for, a Digital Camera, and then that's me done :)

I've wrapped everything and now I'm starting to panic that I haven't got enough for everyone. I feel like an extra thing for my mum, dad and housemate wouldn't go amiss. It's a bit late to start with that now tho.

What's wrong with AA batteries? My daughter has a very good camera which uses non-rechargable AAs and its a hell of a lot better than our rechargable one, which runs out really quickly. The AA batteries last a lot longer.

Well Me & me brother both had digital cameras with AA batteries and they didn't seem to last long, one was a Kodak the other a Fujifilm. Then again that was 5-6 years ago so they're probably a lot better since then. :)

Many camera forums actually prefer models to have AA batteries so that at least you can carry spares when necessary.

Oh really, hmm... perhaps I should give the AA battery digital cameras another look.

I'm getting there. But then I'm a bloke. It wouldn't be Christmas Eve if I wasn't still finishing things off.

I am now officially in the Red Zone. Not finished, but I have my three Lists, which should help me stay in what passes for control. Losing two days of planned preparation didn't help when our electricity went off on Thursday night and stayed off for about 48 hours. We camped at our squash club, my mum's house and my brother in law's restaurant for two days but it threw a spanner in the works all right.
