It seems snow is starting to fall around the country which is nice. Do you reckon it will a white Christmas? Who really cares?

I hope it is a white one. I don't think I have ever had a white Christmas. Have you?

My mum has only known one white Christmas and it was before I was born. So no. Also, the whole Met Office description of a white Christmas for the purposes of bookies is complete bollocks. It's a white Christmas for me if the ground is covered in snow where I am.

NICE??!! NICE????!!!! Are you MAD?????? Snow is all very well and good if all you have to do while its around is sit on your arse thinking how pretty it is. If you actually have to DO things while its snowing its a bloody nightmare. I hate the damn stuff, it should be confined to Christmas card pictures and the inside of those shaky globe things.

My parents live in one of the most likely places to get snow around here (up on a hill, away from the coast), and they've only had one proper (as in like 'The Snowman') white Christmas in 20 years. I can't remember what year it was (think I was in my early teens), but I loved it.

We were very lucky because unlike almost every other time we'd had snow, the power stayed on. And the snow didn't start until after we got home with all the food shopping done. That is a perfect Christmas.

Now under those circumstances, snow is the best thing in the world. But those circumstances almost never happen.........

I hope it snows, especially on Christmas Day, I plan not to get of my arse when it does.

Sadly when it snows in the UK, by the time it gets to London it's shitty sleet :x

On the very rare occasion I listened to Mike Toolan, he said something true:

"Manchester is the place snow forgot"

Also, Chris was hard on himself, it might snow this week but it aint Christmas yet, good luck to him.

The last official White xmas was 2004, and I have some photos I took on Boxing Day that year, but I can't remember if it was actually snowing on xmas day here. I remember there being a few when I was a kid but i dunno exactly what years they were - late 1970s/early 1980s I guess, before climate change started having an effect.

I can only remember one proper white Christmas where we could build a snowman and get the sledges out, and that was 1973. Or 1971. 73 I think. There was LOTS of snow though, and it was proper, thick, dry fluffy snow that you could do stuff with, not the wet slop we are getting at the moment.

We had that annoying ten minutes of snow which has lead to a thin layer of it on the pavements and roads. But because it's freezing outside, that thin layer has quickly turned to ice. Result? Bloody big ice rink.

Wogan is timeless.

Isn't he dead?

Wogan (in Russian accent): I'm Invincible!
Guess the film reference

Apparently it isn't officially a white Christmas over here until the first snowflake falls on the roof of the Met Centre in London, so sod the fact that it'll snow in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland & all of England except for Greater London, Essex & Kent the first snowflake must drop on the Met Centre.

See if it's white outside on Christmas day, it's a * white Christmas.

The MET office can suck on my baubles.

It's for the purposes of the bookies isn't it - I mean it's a white Christmas for me if the ground is covered in snow.
