When I said "this show will be crap now that Jedward have been voted out" I thought I was being funny.

Nope. Last week was rubbish and so was this week. Geez. Can't they just all lose this year?

I was caught in the traffic as Joe took Cheryl Cole to visit his mother on Monday. I didn't even know he was back home. Should have known better than to go anywhere NEAR the street this week I suppose!

Luckily I'm out for an Xmas party Saturday night so I won't have to endure this... Don't think missy is too happy about being dragged out either.... :D

2 birds, one stone....

Yeah I know, but I can only hope. Sod anything to wipe the smug smile of Cowell's face.

Somehow, I can't imagine that the sales from the Christmas number one can make him much money though. Not compared to everything else.

Oh, that reminds me of reason #3 of Why Anti-X Factor Xmas Number One Campaigns Don't Work... When some of the thicker X factor fans get wind of them, they actually feel threatened and reciprocate. At least that's what I remember from the battle of the Hallelujahs last year.

I want to watch Sports Personality of the Year instead. I have a feeling I may be banished to the other telly.

* Ollie Murs and Simon Cowell were the reasons for total gridlock in Colchester last night - I wondered what the hell was going on and the local paper has explained all this morning. Bastards.

Actually, I bought the Jeff Buckley version because it's a good song. I'm not a RATM fan so won't be buying it this year. I'm going with the old campaign of buying Don't Stop Believing by Journey. Great song. :D

I bought it for the same reason I guess, as I knew it didn't stand a chance. Not sure I'll bother with Journey, I'm getting a little sick of that now. We'll see...

The reason anti-X Factor campaigns don't work is because they always choose different songs. I've seen Facebook groups for about 4 different songs. Maybe if they combined and chose 1 song they'd have a slight chance! Idiots.

I heard the song today. I don't think I ever heard the original, but I can't be certain because its such an incredibly forgettable tune I could easily have heard it a hundred times. How dull and dreary can you get? And that's going to be our Christmas number one? What the hell are they thinking?

The other reason these campaigns don't work is the system is against them. Currently, Rage Against The Machine is the early leader on downloads alone. What will happen next is come Wednesday the CD single will come out, give the X-Factor single that added push which RATM won't get, and they'll take the top spot anyway.

If I'm being honest, which I try to be most of the time, although Joe was better than everyone towards the end of the series, I think Olly sung the winners song a lot better than Joe.

I think Miley Cyrus sings it better, which says it all if you ask me.

It would take some amazing talent to make that boring dirge sound good.

I think the reason Miley sings it better is that it's essentially a pop/country song, which her voices suits a lot better than Joe's.

A lot of people are criticising the RATM campaign now, either calling it music snobbery or calling it pointless because the band are with Sony. But I think both arguments miss the point, or at least my point. I just want something other than the X Factor as Xmas number one for the first time since Band Aid 20. I don't care what it is.

And despite how rich Simon gets from whatever's the opposition (Journey, Michael Jackson, Elvis, Bob Dylan are all Sony examples), missing out on the number one that week WILL bother Simon, as it's a failure of symbolic significance. If it didn't matter, why would the X Factor timeframe be dictated by it (full week of sales to enable entry in Christmas chart week) every year?

Tell the truth, you didn't know what the song was before Rob DJ's Monday Night Pub Quiz, did you?!

I know I didn't, I thought it was Gary Jules - Mad World.
