I dunno how they work it this week with it being the public vote, but if there is a bottom two, it's Lloyd and Danyl with Lloyd being booted off. That said, I have been expecting Lloyd to be kicked out for weeks now, so I dunno what will happen.

I want Danyl to go, but expect Lloyd.

Are any of you twitterers following 'CherylKerl'? It's a (blatantly) fake Cheryl who tweets everything in Geordie, and even tho I don't watch X Factor and many of the tweets are related to that, it's still making me laugh a lot.

Shamefully had to stop and let 'Jedward' into Capital fm when I was in London on Wed (we only knew cause there were 4 girls waiting for them - ha!) Lloyd to go tonight, Olly is ok once he gets going but I cringed at the start of his Take That song last night!

I didn't see X-Factor this weekend. Since the loss of Jedward last week it has now become nothing more than a competition between a few singers, none of which are especially noteworthy but can pretty much all at least carry a tune. None of them could hold a candle to Shayne Ward or Leon Jackson let alone Leona Lewis. Yawn.

(Actually, I just happened to be out and and about all weekend and missed it, but my point remains)

I'm still buying the Journey version of Don't Stop Believing that week. Purely because it's a brilliant song.

Bet Cowell's changed it to screw up the campaign against his X-Factor song. Folk would buy Journey to spite him. Will they buy Miley Cyrus? Probably not.

i like that he's chosen a disney artist, despite wanting to compete directly with them in the future with greenwell

Journey and Miley will both chart now whichever cover it is, I bet you. The X Factor influence is immense, and I don't see why that wouldn't extend to X Factor rumours.

As much as I despise the monopolisation of the Xmas number one, the annual smattering of "Let's beat the X Factor!!" Facebook/other campaigns makes me chuckle. Firstly none of them ever stand a chance, and secondly part of the reason they don't work is that there are too many to choose from. Last year it was Jeff Buckley, Rick Astley and Peter Kay; this year it's Journey and various Michael Jackson songs.

If they pick one Jackson song, they might just have the clout to do it.

I doubt it to be honest. The first full sales week after his death he was beaten by Cascada of all things. I realise there were several of his songs charting that week, but 'Man In The Mirror' had become as clear a favourite as you were ever going to get and I don't think that could happen again.

Would be nice to have MJ at Xmas number one (again) though.

Excuse me you X-Factoids but I'm a bit confused by what's happening here. I was brought up on Steve Perry's vocals and am wondering what Journey have got to do with this shitefest. Was 'Don't Stop Believin' slated as a song or summat? I'd have tuned in to see that trainwreck although honours would have to go to anyone having a bash at 'Open Arms' or 'Faithfully' by the very same. They'd require falsetto that would send the audience into prime-time apoplexy.

Actually I was tempted to go that way too for the same reason, but from what I remember the popularity of that song at the time was helped greatly by the hyped-up video and upcoming Brits appearance (yes, really  ) and I don't think it's stood the test of time as well as some of his others.

Incidentally, my Dad still resents it for stopping 'Free As A Bird' reaching number one.

the song has recieved a huge recent increase in popularity due to it being referenced in many forms of popular cultrue, and as such was being touted as the winner's song for this year's finalist.

I must be getting old, cos I'm starting to really hate it when that happens with songs I appreciated for what they were.
