You're older than my girlfriend. And me.

So if your wife and my husband are about the same age, and you and me are about the same age (if i lie a bit), that gives us options in any potential future scenario. Noted.

I *think*, from what other people tell me, that I still look like I'm in my late 20s. Or I hope. Maybe they're all just flattering me...

They'll almost definitely mean 'early thirties', so you're still quids in.

I got ID'd on Saturday night in Tesco. I was chuffed.

Granted, the guy let me buy the booze after I said "no, I don't have ID, but I do have a credit card...?" but that's not the point.

Oh God, my friend is FUMING cos she got ID'd in Tesco on Saturday. Well, it's mainly cos they demanded ID from her friend too, who wasn't trying to check out or pay for the booze in question. Her friend didn't have any, so they refused to serve my friend on the grounds she was buying booze for a minor (they are 24 and 22 respectively). They claimed it's their policy to ask for ID for everyone present, but when she asked if they did the same for parents who are with children, they said no cos "of COURSE parents wouldn't be buying alcohol to give to their kids". They then offered the opinion that her 3 small bottles of Frooli and 3 small bottles of lager were "a lot of alcohol to be buying to drink yourself, don't you think?" Needless to say, she's composing a strongly worded letter to head office...

I haven't been ID'd for years tho. Probably proof that LMN is right about how old I actually look...

I never got ID'd when I was sneaking into clubs at 17 (that's the age I was in first year at uni) let alone now.

My mum took my brother to get alcohol in Tesco not long ago and he didn't have his ID on him, so they refused to serve him. Mum said to him "OK Tom, I'll get it and you can pay me back", upon hearing which, the woman on the till promptly called the manager who told her she wasn't allowed to purchase alcohol from that Tesco that same day.

I don't like it when you buy alcohol on the self-service tills at Tesco because when the staff log-in to verify it, the button they always press says "date not needed - customer is clearly over 25".

Oh... the poll is up.

That's exactly what happened to my friend...the manager said "if you come back here today we won't serve you." But they hadn't said or even implied that the alcohol was for the allegedly younger-looking friend - the staff just assumed it. Interesting that it's happened to someone else tho...

anyway...the poll. Lots of good choices there - 75 was a pretty good year! I went with Bad Company. Both that and Skynyrd are Rock Radio favourites and feature on my 'Classic Rock' playlist. Yes, I spend far too much time composing playlists on my mp3 player.

I went with Bad Company as it was my second choice anyway.

I went with Sidders too. I went with Sidders' choice, even though he didn't explicictly say he was entering it... however, if he wins, he probably won't be around to choose a year anyway, so we'll see what happens with that.

Sidders wins. Sidders, if you read this, you have until Monday morning to PM me your choice of the next year... if not, I'm going for second place, which is Lactating Man Nips (could you also PM me his choice of year as a contingency plan.)

Apparently so... Lactating Man Nips? You have until this evening, otherwise I'm going for third place, which is Zoot.

Okay, howzabout 1992. More gold plated than truly golden.

You won the chance to choose the next year, which you then forfeited by not being here in time.
