Ah that's probably where I've heard him mentioned before, it may have been for the parody album or when they talked about the new jingles for 2009 back in December 2008

In his early twenties, Sandy was a presenter and audio producer for stations including Virgin and Capital Radio, and had a massive hand in shaping the sound of Capital during their dominant years of the 1990s. I personally recall hearing him do a couple of shows covering for other DJs on Capital.

I'm assuming that it was during his year(s) at Capital that Chris first met Sandy, Jon Culshaw and Paul Turner (who was widely heard across much of Capital's imaging at the time), and has continued to have strong relationships with all three throughout his time at Radio 1 and even moreso when he moved to breakfast.

But to answer the original question, Sandy Beech is Managing Director of Music4, formally Vibe Music Imaging, who compose and produce all of Chris' jingles, beds and themes, as well as for many other radio and TV stations across the country.

Thansk for that info, especially the bit I bolded, Capital FM was a superb station when he worked for them, shame really that Capital FM is so crap these days (unless someone can prove me wrong & say that Capital FM is a good station again?)

Oh really? Shame really as back in 1996-1998 I found it very easy to turn on Capital FM at Chris Tarrant in the morning & listen all the way through to David Jensen, Doctor Fox I could give or take back then but I found him more bearable back then. Then at weekends you had Margarita Taylor, Neil Long & of course Chris Moyles (until 1997).

Oh how good Capital FM was back then :)

Aled can you please reassure us you're not as thick as you're made out to be on air and that its all just an act for comedy purposes. Please reassure us on that......... 8O How can anyone not know venison is deer meat?????!!!!!!!

Because it's not a commonly consumed meat, and people who don't eat it probably wouldn't know. Similar to someone who doesn't drink wine not knowing the merlot is red wine, or someone who doesn't particularly like mexican food not knowing what a quesadillia is.

I hate myself for this, believe me, but - I don't like Mexican food and although I have heard of it I have no idea what a "quesadillia" looks like or what's in it - but I DO know its actually spelled "quesadilla".............

Mmmm, soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside! Quesadilla!

Cheese and other ingredients are sandwiched between two flour tortillas, and the whole package is grilled on an oiled griddle and flipped so both sides are cooked and the cheese is melted. This version is often cut into wedges to serve.

There's too much cheese in Mexican food.

I refer you to my scientific (not) poll of asking the first 6 people I saw outside Radio 1. 2 out of the 6 knew what it was.

I'm not merely in the minority who doesn't know, from this I'm the majority!

Chris has another series of his pub quiz show coming up doesn't he? Wasn't that what the medical was about?

Aled. I can't remember if I asked this before...but who dictates the Golden Hour song policy? I was wondering if it was management forcing Chris to only play post-1990 songs or something else. I only ask because I think its a shame you dont play older songs in the Golden Hour, just look at the great songs which have come up in the Golden Hour Game on these boards! :D
