Stadiums that could be used for a World Cup over here would be: Wembley, Emirates (Arsenal), Old Trafford, City Of Manchester, St James' Park (Newcastle) to name a few.

Many teams have got new stadia in the pipeline that would probably be finished by 2018,but I don't think we have a chance of getting it.Hope I'm wrong though.

VERY nice away result against Orient. Up to third, one point off second place.

Southend were very unlucky on Friday night. Lost 3-1 but the game was played in Southampton's half. Just sloppy defending on Southampton's chances were the undoing!

I think that there are a decent amount of stadia which could be used - and if they're not up to standard then could be brought up to standard ( like MK dons' Stadium:MK which is currently 15,000 seater - but would be expanded to 30,000 if the bid goes through)

Absolutely, off the top of my head teams whose stadiums could be used for a World Cup include (in not particular order):

Wembley (not a team of course but a bit obvious)
Arsenal
Manchester Utd
Manchester City
Liverpool (whether that be Anfield or a newer stadium)
Tottenham (their new White Hart Lane Stadium, although they'll only be allowed to have two London Stadias which would be Wembley & Arsenal, according to what I've been told)
Chelsea (see Tottenham)
Aston Villa
Newcastle
Sunderland
Bolton
Everton (although not entirely sure with this one)
Leeds (although they'd need to update it somewhat, the capacity is 40,000 at present though)

Winkleman is intending to do it anyway isn't he? It's a nice stadium actually.

Actually, on this note, it always amuses me when Scotland talks about a bid (or a joint bid). The five biggest stadia in Scotland are:

Murrayfield (67,000 approx)
Celtic Park (60,000 approx)
Hampden (55,000 approx)
Ibrox (50,000 approx)
Tynecastle (18,000 approx)

And they wonder why we never even get close. The first one's a rugby stadium, the next three are all in the same city, and the last one is across the railway tracks from the rugby one and not big enough anyway (most entry requirements say 30,000).

This is my favourite stadium up in Scotland ;)

East Fife - Bayview Park Stadium

Apparently they rebuilt it that way to save money & because they thought it would be better, looks like the final stand is awaiting demolition to me.

Where did Meadowbank Thistle used to play? That was a nice stadium if I remember right.

Ooh, that's my local team. At least I assume it is - St Andrews United is certainly not in the SPL. 8O

Ah, Dundee United. I was fortunate to get VIP tickets once - comfy seats, open bar and a blanket to wrap myself up in during the match. :D

What amuses me about that picture is it's a helicopter view. The last two seasons the winner of the SPL has gone down to the final day, the trophy had to be delivered by helicopter to the winner, and both years the winner was playing at Tannadice (Dundee United's ground).

As for Dundee United's seats... try the Jerry Kerr stand. Most primitive stand in the SPL. Wooden benches that are too close together if you're any taller than about 5' 2".

I've been to Tannadice four times, and only remember (apart from the VIP occasion) being on the plastic seats. My friend was a season ticket holder... I dunno if that might have enabled us to stay away from the Jerry Kerr stand.

Hard to tell. Allocations are different when Celtic and Rangers are in town from any other time. It's the one above the tunnel.

Yay, back to the Premier League tomorrow.

Stoke away for us, proper tough game and would definately settle for a point, fingers crossed for all three... :)

With me being away on holiday and the international break, it's been over a month since I last went to the game. I'm actually looking forward to our home game against Motherwell tomorrow!

 Yeah my brother said there were a couple of rivals who were right next door to each other, I believe it's almost the same distance between Notts Forest & Notts County's grounds.

I would be happy with the away point except for the fact that up until moments from the whistle it was three away points.........I really shouldn't complain.

Blackburn v Burnley was a pretty entertaining game. Far better than that pishy derby match they had up here a couple of weeks ago.

(And I'm not just saying that because we lost it)

Another loss for West Ham, got a feeling this is going to be a very long hard season for us. We've got Arsenal at the weekend at home, really not looking forward it at all... I think a walloping is iminant...

Blimey. We haven't got any excuse for not concentrating on earning automatic promotion after that stomping in the FA Cup...........
