Apologies for the delay...Johnny 1989 only PM'ed me last night with his choice! This weeks Golden Hour year is...1984!

Usual rules apply. Nominate a song from (or thereabouts) 1984, posting a youtube clip if you can. I'll put the results into a poll on Thursday, then we vote for the best song. Simple!

As 1984 was the year I was born...I think I might have a go this week! When I find a decent song that is....

Tempted as I was by the Fraggle Rock Theme (reached no33, chart fans), I'm gonna go with Jump by Van Halen.

Ok so I've gone for another Queen song, but it's another classic. Foots, don't get two excited by the still photo from the vid ;)

For those of you who can't see the video, it's Queen - I Want To Break Free :D

I did mention that, but she said you snooze, you lose.

Also, out of interest Bob - are we allowed album tracks from albums that year, or do they need to be chart hits?

OK I think its an artist who's music has been removed from you tube, I cannot find a decent version of the song online.

My choice

Funny, I encountered the same issue when I was looking for another Prince video the other day. I wonder what happened?

Prince can be incredibly up himself like that though, can't he? Didn't he threaten his own fan site with legal action if they didn't remove photos of him?

Funny thing with You Tube is, that I could understand if the video quality of stuff on there was as good as watching them on DVD, however 98% on you tube is of average>crap quality anyway.

One thing that has become apparent when it comes to the 80's Gold Hour Games on here is that there is so many good tunes released between 1980-1989, so I have to ask the question again, why don't they play anything before 1990???

As for Prince, he's a pompus twonk anyway, even if he has done some fantastic tunes over the last 25 years

Band Aid - Do they know it's Christmas.

A must surely. ( although Madona like a Virgin, and the frog chorus are also worthy contenders in my opinion.

Great year!!!

I am torn between The Reflex - Duran Duran and Wham - Wake Me Up Before You Go Go (someone find the links for me? *Looks appealingly towards Zoot & Foots)

(Have to agree with Boboff though, Madonna - Like a Virgin and The Frog Chorus - was it Paul McCartney are very worthy contenders among many, many others)

You haven't actually picked one though.. although pjordan2000 has gone with Wham, so you can't have that.
