Topher and catherine's choice of year this week....it's the oldest so far!

As usual, post your favourite song from the year in question, youtube clip if you can. Nominations get put into a poll on Wednesday, we vote for the best song.

I'm VERY interested to see what gets posted this week! :D

Tough choice... almost went for Jailhouse Rock and also Peggy Sue, but in the end I decided on Fats Domino - Blueberry Hill.

I'll go for a bit of Buddy Holly - That'll be the day

I remember my dad playing it when i was younger, and the film on the death of him and Richie Valens is one the first films i ever recall seeing.

I'd have gone for Richie Valens - Donna, but that was 1958 :(

Christ, my knowledge of this year is non existant (I'm more a 1979-present person), however I shall have a search out for a good track :)

Actually these threads are rather useful, I can discover songs from years I weren't even aware of or got the year completely wrong.

Well I'm not sure if it was in the charts in 1957 but Lord Rockingham's XI "Hoots Mon". It was definitely either 57 or 58 just hoping it was 57!

In that case then, I'll go with the Everly Brothers - Wake Up, Little Susie.

Ok, I've voted.
I won't be able to play for a few weeks now, but hopefully this game will still be in full flow by the time I've come back, It still has plenty of life left I reckon...
