Not sure if anyone else, who uses this programme has the same problem, but it seems to only effect the Chris Moyles show. Has anyone else notice that since they have changed the site that all shows download in .MOV format rather than .MP3

Does anyone know how I can get round this at all but if I can't does anyone know of a good, free (and virus free) .mov to .mp3 convertor at all please?

Any help greatly appreciated. :)

Just add a ".mp3" tag to the filename before downloading. Worked for me this afternoon.

Ah, so that's where I'm going wrong, originally it automatically saved them as .mp3 files, however ever since they gave each show a full name it has downloaded them as .mov files. I'll give that a go now, thanks for the advice :)

EDIT: It worked, thanks again, I'll just re-download last Thursday's show for now I think, getting a bit late to do all 7 for now. Thanks again :)

Hi, I have dipped in and out of reading bits on this site for a wee while but have only just joined...er...clearly! Mainly due to this thread. Now what I am about to say is going to make me sound like a grade A moron, but as long as I get an answer, it'll be worth it! So, this i-player malarcy... I've downloaded the desktop thing and looked to download the Chris Moyles Show, but I cannot even get to the stage you were at Johnny: .mp3/.mov files. Is there a download button? (if so where, cos it ain't in the same place as where it is for TV shows and the like) If there isn't a download button... how do I do it?

Any help much appreciated guys :D

Hi there, and welcome.

You may wish to read through another thread on this subject, beginning here, which should give you a helping hand and take you through the necessary steps for downloading the show.

Wow! In those links there was lots of words that were alien to me, but I bumbled my way through it all and it all works!

Thanks for the welcome and the link, really much appreciated.

I never knew how easy it could be to a) change a file to an mp3 and b) download things when someone else does all the hard work for you!

Thanks again :D

No need to re-download any shows. Just go to the file and rename the .mov bit to .mp3 and it will work :D
Try this alternative http://r2software.blogspot.com/ .It allows you to browse the iplayer site in the application and download the programs there. It also works in Windows 7 unlike iplayer downloader :)

Hi,

Just downloaded this programme and upto a point it worked a treat! Just come across a snag now however. Does anyone know why todays programme (8th October) doesn't seem to come up? It's on the iplayer website but doesn't come up on the r2software.

Can anyone help me out with this? Or can anyone please provide me with a download link to todays show?

Thx.

Edit: Just found out how to add it via the 'add programme' function. but now once i begin to download i get a message reading 'Error, unable to download, null'

It may not be related, but there tends to be a delay between the latest show being available directly through the iPlayer and when it's then available via Chris' Radio 1 minisite. Either way, the first of those two pages is probably your best bet for locating the most recent show.

I've notice that every time I try to download a show via iPlayer downloader that it says the "page doesn't exist", I imagine there's a bug at the moment with the software at the mo?

Johnny, see a few posts back - the iPlayer Downloader developer is aware of a BBC iPlayer update but has been on holiday and unable to work on it.
