'Tis true, but I was responding to the accusations (that I agree with) that this place is too nice now. Ya big steaming pile of shit. Also, I am trying to think of a topic - it may take a while, my imagination takes up but a small fraction of my already miniscule brain.

I think this is difficult. I'm going for a list of favourite things rather than important things because I think a list of important things is far more difficult and I would be more likely to miss out something - well, something important!

1 - My mug. Its big, Miss Yudster brought it back for me from Eurodisney - it has an "original" style Mickey Mouse and a J on it.
2 - My super-fab gardening gloves. Also useful when attempting to handle a mad rabbit.
3 - My Beachcombing Box. Contains all sorts of things like sharks teeth and fossils and bones and rocks and shells and things picked up on various beaches.
3 - My Mesolithic flint scraper. Belongs in the Beachcombing Box really, but its a favourite thing. You can see exactly how it was made and how it was used. Amazing.
4 - My walking boots. Necessary and much loved.
5 - My books. All of them. Every one. Even the ones I don't much care for. Books are friends.
6 - My Christmas Decorations Box. Tradition and continuity is important to me at Christmas!
7 - My Christmas DVD collection. Yes, Christmas is one of my favourite things but I don't actually own it, so I can't give it a number for itself!
8 - My carved Amber cross necklace. Anyone who knows about my interest in the Austen sisters will get that one.
9 - Perfume. I go through phases of specific favourites, but in general I just love perfume. Keep running out though!
10 - My voice. Its not that spectacular at all, but singing is my favourite thing in the world to do and I couldn't do it without my voice!

Amongst others, yeah. I pick and choose depending on what category of story I'm reading, but tend to have the Guardian as the main one these days. It's as politically biased as any other, but right-wing bias has a nasty habit of triggering my gag reflex, so I look at the Guardian as at least helping my breakfast stay with me until lunch...

No particular order -

1- My guitars. I have 4, 3 electric and an acoustic. I'm not the worlds best player and I they haven't been properly set up for a while, but I try to play everyday and I just get so involved with my playing I forget any worries/stresses I may have.

2- My Zoot Model. Everyone here knows about this, but a few years back Aardman animation made me a model of a robot I draw called Zoot. If you search for it in the forum you'll find a picture if anyone's interested.

3- My comic books. You can get trade paperbacks of most of them but there's something satisfying about reading a comic book. Been buying them for years.

4- My iphone

5- The Labyrinth figures. Mrs Zoot bought me these for Christmas one year and they took months to come. The Labyrinth was the first 'thing' we had together. anyway, they remind me of the babe.

6- My gig program collection. I have over 40 and they really show how diverse my music tastes are - everything from Joss Stone to Whitesnake to Bob Dylan.

7- T-shirts. I have some ace t-shirts I've been bought over the years, with things like Spiderman, Slash, Dangermouse, Batfink, Hong Kong Phooey, GnR etc. I even had a Zoot one made for me.

8- My big Marvin the Martian. My mother bought it me for my Birthday a few years ago, it's about 2 ft tall and it's ace. (I'm starting to see a pattern here, would you believe I'm 30 years old?)

9- My Sketch book. I don't draw half as much as I should any more.

10- Um, running out of ideas... Probably my Xbox. Because Mrs Zoot bought it me. And it's an Xbox.

Okay, I'll give it a go. In no particular order:

1. My chair. It's an antique fireside chair in dark wood and scarlet velvet. It was a bargain from a charity furniture shop.

2. My collection of vintage bird brooches. Mostly from ebay, probably not of any monetary value but I love them.

3. My mirror - another antique, oval surrounded by green leaves and red roses. Also from ebay.

4. My grandmother's ring, which is silver and diamond cut, I wear it almost every day.

5. My vintage locket which I bought in Portobello Road market.

6. My butterfly embroidered corset - I hardly ever wear it but I still love it.

7. My watch, which is DKNY. My ex bought it me about 8 years ago but I still wear it cos I like it so much.

8. My teddy bear which I've had since my christening. He's wearing a tartan print jumpsuit and is in pretty bad shape thanks to a tear on one leg and getting damp with condensation in my old flat, but I couldn't throw him out.

9. My hi-fi which is all hand-me-downs from older relatives, and includes an eight-track cassette player.

10. My mp3 player - not exactly of any aesthetic value, but I never go anywhere without it so I had to include it.

7. Yer da's da's maw.
8. Yer maw's maw's maw's maw.

I enjoyed this one. It's nice to see someone else who isn't a great player spending money on more than 1 guitar simply because they like playing. That's what I'm like. I love playing to entertain myself and to kind of go into my own world but I'm not very good and have spent what some might consider unnecessary amounts of money on equipmen. A 100 watt amp being 1 of them... Seriously, I live in a 1 bedroom self contained flat, there was no need. But it was going quite cheap and it makes a nice noise! Haha.

Thanks Stephen, I've spent quite a bit over the years on guitar equipment, and I still go to see a guitar tutor every fortnight (I've stopped saying 'I have guitar lessons' because I've been going for 10 years and he's a close friend, we mainly just Jam). I try to justify the spending to myself that it's one of my only true vices, I enjoy a beer but very rarely go out, I don't smoke, do drugs etc. I get a lot of enjoyment out of it (it's a great kick when you listen to a song and find yourself working out the chords in your head) and you do lose yourself in your playing. It's just that it's really not a cheap hobby!

I want to play in a band, but I have little interest in performing gigs or 'making it' in the music world, I just wanna group of people who get together every so often and play as a group, I just need the people who want the same as me. Problem is guitarists are 10 a penny, and Drums aren't easy to carry around with you.
