I feel that now he's finally at peace, I can imagine him however I want to. For me the best looking MJ was circa 1980, so I'm going with that. 8)

Incidentally, I'm disappointed that 'Man in the Mirror' lost out to Cascada yesterday. But bloody hell, did anyone hear the chart? Impressive!

Cascada - a song so bad it doesn't know what genre it wants to be.

It's basically them cashing in on Lady Gaga's success. It's so much of a rip-off of 'Let's Dance' that they may as well rename themselves Casgaga. And the fact that I'm somewhat defending her here should be an indication of how much I hate it.

Yeah, Cascada have never had any undertones of electro or pop in their music. Burn them at the stake for copying the highly original lady gaga.

It's actually the only Cascada song I remotely like! No way it should've topped Jacko though!

There's nothing wrong with being influenced by what's popular, but it's hard not to notice when it's this blatant. It does sound completely different to anything they've done before and a lot more like Lady Gaga than anything they've done before. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's noticed.

But in the grand scheme of things, it's not exactly important.

You're genuinely accusing lady gaga of being original enough to have a 'sound' to steal?

She is generic pop, and has been around about 1 year?

New Cascada tune sounds like Britney, Christina Aguilera, Lady Gaga, Pussycat Dolls, Saturdays *insert Now 54*

You seem very adamant. 8O

Does it really matter? I'm not the first person to say one songs sounds a lot like another song. Honestly, who cares?

Very impressive list, shame Man In The Mirror wasn't number 1 but there you are. Nice to see "They don't really care about us" in the top 40, that's a track that normally gets forgotten, I think it's rather good personally. :)

Yeah that's another one that often gets forgotten about as well, rather rocky track for Jackson. That's what I liek about his music, he has done quite a few different styles of pop over the years.

Me too! I hadn't heard it in ages, but when I heard it on Sunday I remembered what a great song I had thought it was at the time, and it still sounds great. I wish I could find my copy of the History album, which has been missing for over a year. Some of the new (at the time) stuff on it was actually pretty good.

At the moment I can't find my copy of the HIStory album or Number Ones, although thankfully all of the Number Ones are on other albums anyway. Can't find a copy of invincible anywhere in the shops.

I bought the DVDs the guy spent a whopping fortune making himself look the business in his videos. His music videos were just the best in the business. Also on the DVD is his MTV Music Awards 1995 performance, all I can say is, wow, and thats the era I wish to remember him by, late 80's to mid-90's.

I'm loving the timing of this. The only reason I know him, being in a different country and probably too young, is due to his brilliant coverage of the US side of the space race. So it's almost fitting that his passing should be during the 40th anniversary of the culmination of that space race.

"...and that's the way it is."

RIP Walter

Nice eulogy, I'll add my consensus to that. Oh no.

I'd add an 'oh no' for Henry Allingham, but at 113, the guy can't really complain about the length of his life, just about some of the things he will have had to see - they deserve a bigger 'oh no' than his death.

I was also sad about Henry Allingham. Of course it was not unexpected, but we're certainly reaching the end of an era as far as WW1 veterans are concerned.

Surely that's a good thing? I'll be even happier when WWII disappears from living memory too.

Why? Just because no one living will have experienced it, that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
