I realise this could look like spam, but it's not...

http://www.lovefilm.com/learn/
We were looking at it yesterday and we're seriously thinking about signing up but it's one of those things that looks kind of too good to be true. Has anyone here sign up for this service? Are there any catches? Do you recommend it?

Which part looks too good to be true? I signed up for a trial of it a few years ago (meaning I didn't pay anything) and it worked exactly as the say it does - if you think you're going to watch a lot of films in a month it's probably pretty good value.

You just answered your own question there. You can't blame me for being slightly apprehensive, have you seen how expensive Blockbusters (the store) is?
We don't watch a HUGE amount of films, maybe 1 or 2 a week, but if we were we'd do the '1 at a time, unlimited DVD's a month' plan. Do they get the DVD's out to you quick?

I don't think I ever had an order take longer than two days to get to me, or upon sending back to register that I had sent it back. They're pretty efficient their end, and they use first-class post for delivery.

No, but I think I can see what you're getting at. They're an internet company, so they have lower running costs than places like Blockbuster, it doesn't cost them that much to post things out to you (and to pay for you to post them back) so they don't have to charge a whole lot to cover their postage and purchasing costs.

I've been using Lovefilm for a couple of years now. I had done the "trials" of various others and found this lot to be better than the others.

I have found them to be pretty damn quick at posting new discs out, it's all 1st class postage and your discs arrive in a paper envelope which you just open and then re-seal and post it back. I sometimes pop a disc in the post in the morning on the way to work, I would then usually get another disc in about 2 or 3 days (depends more on your local postie really).

I did have problems at the start of the year where (I believe) a neighbour would take some of the discs (shared flat security door). But that only happened a couple of times. But overall i'm happy using them.

If you havent signed up yet you should do a google search for free trial codes.. when i signed up about a month ago i managed to get my free trial extended up to 90 days. :)

And yes as with everyone else, ive had no problems with them, they are always extremely fast at getting stuff out to me and ive never been sent a disk that didnt work.
