Hmm.. much as I like Andy Roddick, I wanted Murray to win that, simply because the final is now going to be so boring. Roddick cannot and will not beat Federer, mainly because he doesn't seem to believe he can himself.

Although Roddick did seem to spend more time at the net than in any other game I've seen him play. That and his serving was pretty good and Murray was pretty inconsistent... damn it I hate it when I'm right!

Still, I'm tempted to put money on Murray winning the US Open. Although Nadal will be back by then and he'll fancy completing his set there.

I think Murray will win the US. I've got a little bet on it with someone at work.

I certainly think Murray might win WImbledon next year, and if he does, it won't be his first title. I think if Roddick applies his brain to the problem of Federer in the way he did to the problem of Murray, he might cause a surprise. It was a supremely intelligent performance from him yesterday. If he plays that way against Federer, well, that won't work - but if he has got Federer's game worked out the way he seemed to have Murray's, well, he has the best coach in the world to guide him to the right way to beat him. It could be interesting.

Superb final, and unbelievable final set. I really felt for Roddick when he finally lost, he put up one hell of a fight and deserved the win. He looked understandably distraught. Roddick for a Grand Slam win soon!

Actually, I don't think it was that great. Well, it's not that it was bad, it was just really long and the quality of tennis wasn't as good as it was last year.

I kind of agree with Munki. The only interesting thing about it was that it went on for a long time. Other than that it was just ace-ace-ace-ace- boring boring boring tedious dull.

Yeah, not a great final.. they made it sound better on the radio than I think it actually was, but actually, there was another interesting thing about it - and that is that Yudster, thankfully, was right. I really thought Roddick would take a bit of a hammering, because I've seen it so many times before against Federer... and who could blame him for not having a bit of belief, after losing 18 times? The guy is a fighter though and obviously wanted that match so much. I hope it gives him the confidence to play well against the top players in tournaments to come.

The Radio 5 Live commentary was AWFUL. You could hear the play going on in the background and they were gassing on about past matches, or all sorts of crap - doning everything except tell us what was happening. I've never listened to them before, and I won't be doing it again.

Marin Cilic. Marin * Cilic in straight sets... oh well, that's me a fiver poorer.

Still, at least it means I can concentrate on supporting Nadal now, even if I can't watch it.

Apparently Murray's got some wrist injury, although to his credit he's not using that as an excuse.

But he stil brought it up though.

He's still had an awesome year though and will be quite interested to see how he pairs up with Laura Robson early next year if the talk is true.
