Can't say I'm that bothered by it, I was never a fan. Much more affected by the news of Swells' passing, now there is a star who's really gone too soon.

Like him or lot, it's definitely one of those "where were you when you heard..." moments. I think he was probably one of the last - if not the last - musicians where you can say their music will live on for years and years. Chris mentioned John Lennon and my immediate thought when I heard was Freddie Mercury and Elvis - he's definitely in with that group of people who, like him or not, you can't deny that his music has influenced so, so many people.

That said, I did feel sorry for the guy - there's no way I'd want to be that well-known, particularly from the age of five. The guy never really had a childhood, I'm sure that had a massive effect and was one of the reasons he ended up so undeniably strange. I'm undecided whether he actually did molest those kids - though I think probably not - but he did admit to sleeping in the same bed as someone else's children and whichever way you look at it, that's wrong. Whether he knew it was wrong or not, is another thing entirely, but it is.

For the record I was heading to get a kebab.

Oh, also, I forgot to say... Uri Geller is supposed to be one of his best friends and he seemed to be using it as publicity yesterday. Maybe I'm being cynical, but in the space of an hour, he had been on the phone to Sky News and BBC News and then Sky News had set up cameras in his house for an interview with him. Not only him, Gambaccini... he was coming out with a load of bollocks on the BBC that had to be heard to be believed.

It's very sad they have had to cancel all his up coming dates, Ben (aged9), Adam (aged 6) and Steven (aged 10)

The pub quiz I was at had just finished, and someone from the team on the table next to us broke the news. I didn't want to believe it (it was still unconfirmed at that point) so I left immediately. Then I avoided any media until this morning, because I knew that if it was to be confirmed to be true, Moyles would be the ideal person to do it for me.

I'm not exactly a fan these days, but I was obsessed once. He's definitely my generation's Elvis.

He was also quoted as saying he wouldn't believe it until he heard it from a doctor. Surely the great mind bender would have better ways of finding out than that? Or maybe it's because he's a publicity hungry fraudster who's built a whole career on lying to a gullible audience, and is now taking a final opportunity to cash in on his so-called friendship with a deranged child botherer.

I didn't realise how important he was to me until he was gone. And those of you who speak to me privately will know that is NOT the kind of thing I make a habit of saying. I'm really upset, I feel so stupid but I am.

I heard both of them. I think by the end of their interviews I was starting to bracket them along side Piers Organ as far as self-publicising toss pots go.

Although I did like what Gambaccini said about John Peel. He quoted John as saying that although Jackson was never his cup of tea musically he was undeniably the best entertainer of his time. I can believe John Peel would have said that.
