I'm quite surprised about how many people have read that and believed that they'll actually do it. They blatantly won't.

I feel a Foot-loose banner coming on - with himself as 'The Stig' - or even funnier, his dog.

Why would Foot-loose represent himself as his dog? That'd just be silly.

Well, after seeing Adam Sandler play keepie-uppie with a cat in the film, I am a believer, that film is nuts.

So how come none of the "celebrity" drivers ever detected a hint of a German accent? Hmm...

I love the fact that some people actually believe Michael Schumacher is The Stig... one news agency even reported it in all seriousness last night, although I can't find the article now, so they may have removed it.

It was on Wikipedia within about half an hour. Looked up Ben Collins, the guy that really is supposed to be The Stig and it was already meantioning the reveal!

Oh for goodness sake - did no - one notice that there was no "guest" last night? I can't believe that people actually think Schumacher is Stiggy. I could tell when he walked into the studio, the walk and posture, his whole demeanour, was completely wrong. And you could see the side of his neck before he took the helmet off - you never see a fraction of an inch of Stig's skin.

I don't think anyone really believes it do they? Ignore the papers obvously, but I haven't spoken to any real people who think it's true. Am I missing something here?

I hope not. I'd hate to think it was something which actually existed outside the tabloids.

Zoot's friend was fooled.

Yes, but that's in the West Country. Surely that constitutes some excuse.

Yes he was! It took me 13 texts to convince him otherwise.
It was obvious it was gonna be an F1 driver though - it was filmed this week and in which country are all the f1 drivers?

Don't try to wriggle out of it. Gloucestershire is firmly in the West.

Ah, see I didn't know how far in advance they filmed it, though it would make sense that he was in the UK, as he still works for Ferrari.

The main studio filming is done on the preceding Thursday I believe, but they have been known to pre-record guests several weeks in advance - remember the one with the poppy?

Just had a thought - Schumacher was probably the Stig for this particular drive because it was a million pound Ferrari - Ferrari probably wouldn't allow the normal Stig to drive it. Perfect timing - Ferrari are in the country the week of the show, they get to show off their latest crazy car, and TG get The Stig back in the headlines just as the new series kicks off. Genius.

Apologies if I've arrived at this conclusion three weeks behind everyone else.

Looks like it's debatable -
The West Country is an informal term for the area of south western England roughly corresponding to the modern South West England government region. It is often defined to encompass the historic counties of Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset and the City of Bristol, while the counties of Gloucestershire and Wiltshire are also often included. Some usages of the term include even wider areas, while others are more specific though with little consistency of definition.

Happy?

Haha - I'm amused that Zoot's choice is to be associated with either the West Country or the Midlands... what a choice!
