Stirling Albion rounding off their season with a nice gubbing of Queen's Park too. Good good. Hopefully I'll be part owner of them in the coming weeks.

I'll be delighted if Newcastle stay up. I've been down to St James' a couple of times for testimonials - including Mr Shearer's - and the Toon Army a cracking bunch. Although I did feel a little grubby last night celebrating a Peter Lovenkrands goal.

The Copa del Rey final is tonight in Spain, Barcelona versus Athletico Bilbao. You'd expect an easy win for Barca, but Bilbao caused a slight upset in the semi final by beating Sevilla 3-0, so despite the fact they're currently 11th (I think) I think tonight will be an interesting game!

4-1 to Barca in the end. That'll teach Bilbao to score first and early in the game. Part one of the... ahem... unique treble* in the bag. They might get part two without kicking a ball if Villarreal beat Real Madrid on Saturday!

* Who do people insist that Man United won a "unique" treble in 1999? I looked it up. Winning the League, Cup and European Cup treble was done THREE TIMES before Man United managed it. Hardly unique. Unique in England perhaps, but since one of the three is Europe wide that's hardly a valid point.

But how is anyone else in Europe going to win the Premiership and the FA Cup?

Wigan made a good point last night I thought.

I desperately want Newcastle to go down now. I also want both Hull and Middlesborough to stay up though, so I'm clearly not being too realistic here..........

Far rather newcastle stay up as it's 6 easy points generally. On the other hand, they have the most deluded fans ever.

As for the league, I said before, it was overly cautious selections and tactics against Stoke, West Brom et al that cost Liverpool the title. Seven draws at home won't win you the league, that's 14 dropped points at home compared to united's 8 (even though they lost twice).

So yeah, well done united. Still a bunch of hateful *, but what can you do?

I hope Spain let Torres have the summer off or he wont be much good to Liverpool next season or to Spain in the world cup next summer, and to be honest the only teams that can win the league are utd Chelsea and Liverpool so not everyone has an excellent chance

If they don't drop points they have exactly the same chance as anyone else.

Silly managerial rants might be a good thing to cut out too. Rafa's rant can now go in the history books as the point where Liverpool lost the league just like Keegan's did.

To honest i loved it when Rafa stood up to Ferguson and i dont think that cost us the title it was about time someone stood to him as the fa and premier league seem scared of him

He had his rant when Liverpool were clear at the top. The next few weeks saw Liverpool's form slump which allowed Man United to catch and overtake them without really eating into their games in hand. After that Liverpool were waiting on slip ups that never came.

He might have been spot on, but his timing was poor.

Not a classic UEFA Cup final, but entertaining anyway. Although the way ITV kept going on about British representation in the final was just annoying.

Almost as annoying as them going on about this being the last UEFA Cup final. Yeah, in name only! Next season's Europa League is still the second competition in Europe, with the same trophy, the same basic format of qualification, a slightly more sensible group stage, then a knockout to the final. It's a rebranding exercise and the history of the UEFA Cup will still be the history of the Europa League just as the Fair Cities Cup is the history of the UEFA Cup and the European Cup is the history of the Champions League!

Oh hang on... better Anglify that a bit... eh, it will be the same as Division One being the history of the Premiership. After all, Liverpool still have 18 titles, don't they? And Man United have just matched them, even though they've only won the Premiership 11 times.

That's better.

Think of me as the anti-Sky. I've never heard one bunch try and talk up so much shit in my life. And like most things, your average punter believes what they're told rather than what they see with their own eyes.

Andy Gray annoyed me on Saturday by trying to claim that winning the Premiership was better than winning the Champions League. This was after sitting through a dire 0-0 draw between two of England's top four - the same top four we've have for a while now. There must have been about three chances in the whole game. I mean, it was like watching another Old Firm game it was that bad! At least the folk involved had the decency to admit it wasn't a great game.

And then there was all the random references to all things English and British all through the UEFA Cup final last night. Like I'm incapable of watching football without some sort of UK influence on the game. No, I want to watch a European final, just tell us what's happening in the match!

Honestly, for the most part it's the commentators and pundits that annoy me more than anything else. With the odd exception, they're all an arrogant bunch of know-nothing eejits who aren't good enough to get a real job in the game.

But if you do think I'm being negative, Chelsea v Liverpool in the Champions League was a cracking game of football - probably the best game I've watched this season (and I include Real Madrid v Barcelona there - Barcelona may have been technically brilliant but it was a bit one-sided). And I'm looking forward to watching Sheffield Utd v Burnley this weekend. Might have to do it with the sound down though...

I some ways i agree as 3 of 4 semi finalist in the champions league were from England so the premiership does seem harder to win,and as a Liverpool fan i would rather win the Premiership then the Champions League

Hang on - Andy Gray annoyed you for agreeing with you?! Now I'm really confused!

Having said that, Andy Gray just annoys me without doing anything.

Unless you were being facetious, in which case ignore me.

See, I think on a level playing field you'd want to win the Champions League ahead of the Premiership any day. But Liverpool are the exception because it's not a level playing field for them. They're the only one of the big four not to get their hands on the Premiership trophy and it annoys them so much they desperately want to win it.

But when it comes down to it, 5 > 3 is what really matters.
