I'm fairly sure I've heard just as much music today as I usually do.

Except usually when I come into work I put the radio on (this is around 8am) whereas today it's still in my bag.

The best option is to switch on a CD / MP3 player for the morning.

Ive downloaded the Ricky Gervais, Steve Merchant Karl Pilkington podcast back catalog will be listing to that for the next two weeks in the mornings Scott mills show is brutal.

I'm finding Scott's show a bit odd, there was one link he was was talking for about a minute & a half, Tulip chipped in with something & then they cut to a song but it sounded like they'd cut the link by accident.

I'll be honest I think I'm just going to listen to some vintage Moyles for the remainder of these next two weeks, it's much better listening :D

Yup, those are brilliant, well worth a listen!

I am enjoying Scott. Becky makes me smile. The whole " I have a bad case of Diarrhea" thing was very funny indeed. The Joe Whiley Barry Chuckle call was class. Come on guys give it a go, it really is very good radio.

Bring back Laura's diaries I say!

I tried to listen this morning before I could be arsed to get out of bed to turn it off, but I just couldn't do it. It was shite.

Its fine as background noise until they start talking. Then I have to switch off, the insincerity overload is too much for me.

OK, I was trying to remember what I actually heard when I wrote that last post and I couldn't, but I can now. It was about Scott Mills 'noticing' that he no longer say goodbye to people and consequently they find him rude (unsurprisingly.) Well, just say bye - problem solved. I believe the excuse was that he doesn't like conflict. Well, neither do I, but I have no problem saying bye to people.

I heard this in the car and kind of know what he means. The whole saying bye to people thing is quite stressful in a way, if it's lots of people, and some of which you don't know too well. Weddings for example. I'd rather just look rude and bugger off home. It depends on the person really, but thats why I prefer to socialise in smaller groups, with good friends. But sometimes it unavoidable. Also most people tend to piss me off after a while, and become irritating.

Mills is still shit though, with his overscripted, dull show.

I tried, I really tried today but once he started playing the Japanese English learning tape about "I have a severe case of diarrhoea I had to turn off and it was a close call on many occasions before that!

Any part of the show where they are talking is intolerable to anyone of a reasonable intelligence.

I put Moyles' show on from last week this morning when I got up... unfortunately I won't have that luxury next week.

I gave it another go this morning, and I hate to say this but it wasn't as stomach churningly bad as I remember it.

Normally Scott Mills induces some kind of acid reflux reaction in me, but today was just bland. Becky talking about holes in her cardigan, then a couple of calls with girls doing A-levels today, with Poker Face played in between.

The students were both doing the same exam this morning, which for some reason caused mild astonishment in the studio, (either that or Chappers had hiccups). Scott asked both students the same questions, and said bless you to both of them, at which point I switched off.

It wasn't particularly offensive, it was just the formulaic unimaginative drone you can hear on any commercial breakfast show.

I did hear a small bit of it this morning, when my radio alarm went off. He said "it's only bleurgh Friday" and then asked if it was late enough to shout it over classical music yet. I can't believe he's still doing that... wasn't it something he nicked from Sara Cox anyway?
#386705
he will have nicked it from someone, he hasn't ever had an original idea in his life. Broadcasting idea.

To be honest, all Dear Scott makes me want to do is tune into Radio 4. I'd rather listen the "posh Radio 4 woman" than Scott. I have no idea what she looks like, but she sounds fit so my imagination can fill the rest in.

On the plus side, the Wonder Years should be better today. Greg's aren't as good as JK & Joel's used to be, but they're still better than Scott's.
