I could be wrong, I'm not a dietitian or any other kind of failed doctor.

True, one should aim for 2lb per week maximum. I remember losing 3-7lb in the first couple of weeks when I started losing weight 3 years ago, but if you're overweight enough to start with, you can lose a lot in the very early stages. You shouldn't continue that way though.

Yes, well you evidently have been stuffing your face and justifying it with a brisk walk.

What time period were you thinking this relates to? I haven't actually mentioned it here.........

Well done on your 6lbs Yuds.

I'm back on the diet after a day off. (felt really guilty!) Going to keep a food diary for my Personal Trainer so he can say what I'm doing wrong..........I'm scared!

Why don't you tell us then?

I don't think its all that relevant to the basic theme here (although it was about two and a half weeks for those who disagree) - but it was interesting how people can rush to make a judgement even though they don't have the neccessary details.

I totally ignored my diet this weekend! Feel really guilty. I did, however, do a LOT of jumping about and dancing and walking so I'm quite happy with the amount of exercise I did. Back to it tomorrow - I mean today (I really must stop doing that)

Topher and I made this and it was yummy, just tastes like chocolate cake is abit crumbly can't really get a slice but is good for your diet. I'd suggest a bag of mix and 300mls diet coke and cook it for the longest time it allows.

I've lost 8lbs. Whaay.

Talk to the trainer first - get his advice and follow it, then see what happens.

You need to be more consistent, lots for a few days then coming off it is not going to help you loose weight, if anything the famine and feast scenario will mean your body is MORE likely to store fat when it can.

Don't live life like a soap opera, more like the south bank show.

This is VERY true.

I only came off it for ONE day in the end and even then I did loads of dancing so loads of exercise. I know what you mean though apart from the Soap Opera v South Bank Show reference - don't get that at all Boboff.

Oh, maybe I am having a too profound day.

I meant that a steady plod with some basics taken as read, rather than threads in two sites, personal trainers, exercising till it hurts, public admission of failure, it's all so "look at me, I am special" when you could just pay £4 a week to go to fat club and get weighed properly, take some advice and motivation from those around you, and improve your long term health by gaining a better understanding of what it is that makes you over weight.

Sorry, that sounds harsher than I actually wanted it too, but I can't think of a nice way to say what I think. Sorry.

Healthy week for me - lunch for the next few days consists of low fat humous, pitta bread (didn't have wholemeal though which is rubbish), cuecumber and tomatoes :)

I think you're right boboff. When you spend your whole life thinking and worrying about your weight and feeling guilty/upset/stressed/confused about what you're eating, it's inevitable that that will become a big drama. I think maybe people who don't have disordered eating and an emotional relationship with food don't feel the need to do this, but I can empathise with S4B on this cos I'm just the same.
