I wouldn't use anything other than tinned tomatoes for cooking, fresh ones simply don't have the flavour and the juiciness you need.

I used to run a little pub/restaurant in London and I used to walk to Smithfield really early in the morning to buy meat. My favourite breakfast when I got back was scrambled eggs and hot tinned tomatos on toast with salt and pepper. Yum.

It was the Chris Evans show on Radio 2 last night. They're amazing just on toast, so you get the soggy tomato-toast.
Any Yuddy is right - tinned tomatoes are one of the only things that have benefits over fresh ones without the crap they usually add.
Tinned new potatoes are nice but can be quite salty.

Tinned new potatos are nice, but they are nothing like potatos! They are very good sauteed. But not at the moment - I don't think I could fit them into this diet.

I love tinned tomatoes, but I also love cherry tomatoes.

They're two completely different things - I eat cherry tomatoes like, well like Cherries, but you wouldn't cook with them, and you wouldn't eat tinned tomatoes cold (although you could of course).
I love Garden peas, but they just don't work with fish and chips, needs to be marrowfat for that.

Cherry tomatoes > tinned tomatoes. Of course.

My missus puts cherry tomatoes in with the Sunday roast. I don't normally like tomatoes on their own but they come out so juicy and tasty I can't resist them.

Seconded.

That's good though, isn't it?

Anyway, I remember being told once that the actual weight takes a while to start coming off, you see it come off before you can measure it on the scales. Or something. Whether it's true or not, I'm not sure, but that's what I was told.

6lbs is really good.

I found out the other day there is this thing that you take a bag of cake mix and a can of diet pop put them together and cook them. Now it sounds totally disgusting but imagine getting a bag of chocolate cake mix and cooking it with diet cherry coke...

6lb is nearly half a bloody stone, isn't it? This thread has reminded me I need to get back to the gym. I've been very naughty over Easter (during which time I've also been too busy to go to the gym after work) and I'm paying £22 for it each month, so really should use it.

But how does it stick together with no eggs?

I don't see why you can't do it with home baked cake too, if you can do it with this.

You're missing the point Topher, this will cut out all the eggs and milk you put in it so why would you want to ruin a real baked cake with coke? I'd only use it if it was giving me low calorie cake.

I don't know how it would stick together but people say it works and is like a brownie so must be a thick cake mix, that or all the water from the coke evaporates during cooking.

Dried coke is really sticky. It's almost like superglue.

6lbs is too much I thought. Not healthy to lose that much that quickly.

I could be wrong, I'm not a dietitian or any other kind of failed doctor.
