I went in a McDonalds for the first time in about 10yrs last weekend. Just standing there while I waited for my flatmate was enough to make me feel disgusting. It was like the grease was seeping into me by some sort of osmosis. I felt like I had gained half a stone just by being there.

McDonalds is the only place I know which is currently having trouble recruiting staff - it'll be that grease-osmosis thing that's the problem.

Lose weight fatties! Go on walk to work, don't eat that sticky bun for lunch.

See I can provide positive encouragement too.

Oh Nic it's ok you can have a day off! I went for a half hour walk at lunchtime and I'll do some more on my exercise bike later. I can weigh myself tomorrow morning - slightly scared.

Joel is benefitting from this too S4 - he has been going swimming far more than before and can now do six strokes without his armbands. Underwater admittedly, but the other two both learned like that first and they both swim really well now.

I need to get some new scales.

I weighed myself 8 times this morning the results ranged between 15 and a half stone and 6 pounds! HMPH!

However................

I can now pull my skirt down without undoing it* YAY!

*yes I know what's coming

Ignoring the obvious innuendo later on in your post... that is a massive range. I'd be worried if I got on the scales and they said six pounds.

I have been for a walk and I've been on my exercise ball. Also done some lifting of heavy boxes at work which I think counts.

I had Weetabix for breakfast, forgot lunch and have just had poached eggs, baked beans and toast for tea.

I am trying so hard.

I went a run yesterday, mainly to see if I could do it to be honest. Ran for about 20 minutes without a stitch, I impressed myself actually.

It does. Well done - and you must have lost a fair bit, evidenced by skirt. (Ok, I know this is a weight loss thread but I need to resist the temptation to post like Bridget Jones).

I have been making chicken soup and instead of sauteeing the onions in oil I put a little salt on them so they sweated and cooked them like that. And although I did put a tin of Borlotti beans in, I left out potatos. Other than that, just leftover chicken and cabbage and a few carrots. It is delish actually!

Also I have started swimming again - and when I feel a bit stronger from that I am going to start using the gym again. And hopefully I'll be able to go back to my boxing class in a couple of months. Or three.

I don't know if I have lost any weight yet because i didn't weight myself at the start of all this (too scared!) - so I'll take today's numbers (pretty bloody scary still) as my baseline and report any losses from there!

I went to a bullfight once out of curiosity mainly. I felt very uncomfortable left quite early on.

Really? I paid €23 so I wasn't leaving haha. It was very interesting though. They got through 6 bulls and it was a fascinating spectacle. One of these things you have to do while you're in Spain. I'll post some pictures when I get them online. The first bull we saw managed to knock over a horse and then gore the matador. Don't think he was too badly hurt but he limped off. Got some cracking pictures of him being thrown in the air.

The last matador was fantastic too, very skilled. He got a one-shot kill on his bull too, and after getting so close to it the crowd loved it.

I can see why it'd make some people very uncomfortable but it was brilliant.

I was about to say the same thing. I think I was a bit naive in going, I was sort of hoping that it wasn't as brutal as it actually was, which in hindsight, seems bloody stupid. Although I did go prepared to leave early if I didn't like it - which I didn't, so I did...
