Wii Fit is good, but I would recommend it with a combination of walking or something more aerobic. Also, don't be too strict with the diet and goals. It's better to have something reasonable that won't make you feel like you're depriving yourself or stressed about doing it. Moderation works.

Thanks Kendra. I'm using my exercise bike as well. Bruvva has worked out that it's 2 pounds a week between now and Christmas which should be ok. I still intend to have the odd glass of wine now and again too.

I would say have the odd glass of wine and the occasional packet of crisps. 2 lbs a week is doable, but also be prepared for any plateaus or off weeks. I'm sort of doing a fitness thing with a group of colleagues (for late October), and half the people involved are already stressing about weight and hitting the wall, even though they are healthier. I guess my message is that health isn't totally a number, though it does help set the goal. Best of luck! I think it's a good thing for people to do.

S4, might be worth trying to drink more cold drinks because I read somewhere (can't remember where and it may not be true) but cold drinks are harder to digest or whatever the liquidy version is than hot drinks as the body can't deal with it cold so has to warm it up or something and that apparently helps with weight loss. It worked the last time I lost weight but then I was exercising a lot too.

OOooh I'll try that. Thanks Lottie

Me & Mrs B have both done well with slimmers world and my brother lost of 8 stone on it last year. (25 - 17, 5ft 8in, still no stick insect)

You basically just have low fat, no bread, food combination thing.

Green= Fruit and Veg and Pasta and Rice and salad Potatoes.

Red= Meat Eggs Fruit and Veg that grows above the ground (Not Potatoes swede Parsnip)

No Alcohol and no sugar as well (Candarel)

You have an allowance of 15 sins a day, or so this is set by the Teacher. The sins cover breakfast cereal etc, and a few treats.

You keep a food diary and take it to class.

Personally I found the classes a real motivator, as did my brother. You end up starving yourself for the day before you go and get weighed, but that is all part of it.

They give you certificates for every half stone, and if you loose the most weight in a week, or a month, provided you lost weight the previous time, you get slimmer of the week month award, and a sticker.

Once you get to your target weight you can go as and when you like for free provided you stick within 10% of your target weight.

There is also a program that runs along side it, which is exercise based.

If you loose interest, then I would strongly recommend you do this S4. You never know you might even meet some shag material.

So there you have it, my advert for Slimmers World.

I used to make loads of meals with TVP and freeze them for Char, so it's dead easy to come home and do 8 minutes in the microwave and you have a good meal.

Fruit, Salad, fruit salad, Low Fat Cottage cheese and Yogurt as well as Muller Yogurts are all your treats really which are free, i.e you can eat as many as you like in a day.

Without wanting to hijack, Angelo has definitely let slip more than once that it's Slimmers World - Rachel even made a comment in the background once that he'd mentioned it enough.

Slimmers World? Slimmers' World?

*checks Google"

Slimming World.

WTF?!

I don't like the idea of a diet that uses the concept of "sins". My relationship with food is messed up already without bringing sin into it.

Mine too Nic. Also Boboff I can't afford to pay to go to these things, nice as it would be to be ridiculed in front of strangers when I fail to lose weight. I have you lot to ridicule me if I slip off it so this is kind of free. Glad it's working for you and Mrs Boboff though and well done to brother of Boboff too!

Nice to see you've got a positive attitude about it.......! Seriously, if you're determined enough, you'll do it, but you have to want to do it and believe you can do it. Which means not saying stuff like that.

Also, I hardly think you'd be ridiculed in front of other people who are trying just as hard to lose weight.

I know Toph. I'm just so used to failing at things like this.

I want to be told off though if I stop trying!

charlalottie wrote:How about you jot down all the bits of exercise you do during the day so at the end of the day you can see how much you've done? I'm doing that now. I've done 0.8 miles walking and 2.1km on my bike just now.

I'm also going to write down everything I eat or drink every day.

Well, no wonder with an attitude like that. Don't be so defeatist.

That's not the same as being ridiculed. And not trying is not the same as not succeeding.

I've decided I don't need to lose any weight. Little bit of a stomach on me at the moment but nothing I can't handle.

See, even I'm not perfect. I'm just happy with who I am. Aren't I lucky.
#383507
I need to get better weight. I'm fine for bmi but my body fat percentage is a little high. Only a little though.

Basically need to lose the fat and put on some muscle. Which is odd since I've quite a lot of muscle in my legs already. I know I'm not exactly muscle bound up top, but I wouldn't think that would account for what can only be described as a big round belly!

Not that I can be bothered doing anything about it. I'm fairly fit already and I've no health issues. But most of all I like my food!

I write down everything I eat, and also what times I'm hungry in order to try and spot patterns, it definitely helps.
