Which might be because all the Doctors in that time looked like ancient horses of varying degrees of lameness so it would have been a bit tricky to find anyone in the universe who would WANT to kiss any of them.

Still doesn't mean it's right to kiss him though!!!!

I'd've kissed Tom Baker, Peter Davidson and Christopher Eccleston but not when they were being the Doctor!!!

That's my point, it just doesn't seem right.

Also Yudster, I take it you didn't fancy Davison in his Doctor Who days, some ladies fancied the pants off of him apparently (judging by comments on the DWF)

God no. Especially not dressed as a public school cricket spectator.

 Well the Cricket costume was rather silly, but then again this was the 80's

Oh no, you got me wrong there S4B, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the 80's, apart from the clothes, and hairstyles. But other than that I think the 80's was a great decade.

So, looking forward to the Gene Genie making his return then?

I deeply enjoyed the eighties - but that doesn't mean it was anything other than preposterous!

Already on series link mate!

Isn't that why it was amazing though!?

Lots of things are preposterous without being amazing.

Yep, I'll be honest I prefer Ashes To Ashes over Life On Mars, probably because I was born in the 80's so can remember bits of it :D

I agree with you both, the 80's were preposterous at times (hair & fashion for example) but I do rather like the 80's, it was a decade of constant change, more so than any other decade of the 20th Century. I also like the 20's/30's as well (whatever period Poirot and Jeeves & Wooster were set in) although that's more to do with the art deco architecture & objects, there's something rather striking about them.

How does that work then? The first series was set in the summer of 1981. Even if you were born January 1980 you'd have been 18 months old at best. Can you remember being that young?

I remember 1984. It had John Hurt in it. He was the Elephant Man you know.

I watched a lot of Minder & Boon as a kid, which date from round that time (Minder definately does). TBH I remember the 80's from 1985 onwards (in parts, I was born in 1983) but fully from 1987ish onwards.

Perhaps I've just watched too many 80's programmes over the years that I seem to remember more than I actually experienced, I don't know, but either way I find the 80's fascinating.

I definately remember mullets (especially those dyed blonde) those horrible knitted jumpers, Thames Television & LWT quite vividly and Capital Radio on AM (Before Capital was split into FM/Gold) quite a lot. I remember when my old man bought Boston's Third Stage on cassette and telling me it was a great album (yep it is) & watching Queen Live At Wembley 86 on Channel 4 (when they still had that colour building blocks logo.)

However it's rather patchy during 1985-1986 for me however from 1987 I have quite a good memory.

Yep apparently from launch in 1982 until 1995/6 8O It still looked great even in 1995

When it was LWT's "last day on air" (read that as the name irradiated & replaced with ITV1), they were the only ones who bothered to pay tribute to their time on air.

After all that 80's talk I ended up missing Ashes To Ashes  Hopefully there's a repeat on this week :D
