I thought they were pissing about when they said N-Dubz, considering how they've taken the piss out of them recently.. at least they seem to have a sense of humour, even if they do make shit music.

I find it funny that Chris slagged off or had a lot of comments about NDubz a few weeks ago but now they are in front of him he is there biggest fan....

It was a nice interview thouugh...

I missed NDubz this morning, apparently it was really good so I have to listen again. I can't stand Snow Patrol, but I really enjoyed them too - what's happening to me?

I think he just found them quite funny - they obviously knew how much stick he'd given them and played along with it, which is fair enough really.

The live track was awful though - the studio version is bad enough, the live version was a hundred times worse.

I missed Snow Patrol, but I do like them. I really enjoyed N-Dubz (when they were chatting), which surprised me.

Ditto, I'm in the area with a higher chance of getting tickets which I'm rather pleased about.

Since I was bored, I've uploaded it for posterity. It made me laugh this morning.

I noticed that too. DJ's often have to be two-faced. The management often forces artists on them, regardless of how the DJ's feel about them. That means the DJ's are suddenly face-to-face with artists they might have said bad things about...remember when the Hoosiers were on? The lead singer was a bit frosty with Chris as I recall :D

Whiley does it too with her Live Lounge. Every single cover/performance is 'wow that was great thanks' because she can't insult them on air!

Basically its the age-old management vs. DJ's thing. DJ's cant insult artists, as they may not agree to come on the show again. That is bad news for the management!

Considering Radio 1 is a BBC enterprise and not commercial, the management don't half run it like a business sometimes.

I think Radio 1 secretly gets paid by the music industry considering all the plugging/endless repeating of chart music they do.

Yup, I think that too. Even though he's one of my favourite DJs, Zane Lowe is quite guilty of this. He does't slag off bands, but I can't help feeling he can't possibly love everything he plays. Saying that though, the new music shows are heavily influenced by the DJs moreso than the daytime ones, so maybe it's not the case.

Ed Pummelon wrote:Haven't heard today's show yet, but apparently along with the line-up announcement, there is also news that:

"Chris Moyles, who will be performing a short set of song parodies, says: 'Our set on the Main Stage will be to Swindon what Madonna was to Maidstone last year - but better!' "

Hurrah, will be excellent to hear the parodies live (crosses fingers for "Ballad Of Tesco's")

I'd put money on them doing the Alesha Dixon one, given that she's also going to be there. If they could get her involved in it that would be even better.

Couldn't agree more. Listening back to some of things that were said on the Afternoon Show, they'd be sackable offences now. That's only a few years ago.

And some call that progress.

 I know (Calling Lizzie a "Slut" on air is a classic example, although thankfully she laughed at that rather than took offence)

Also, wait until the 20/12/2002 show is up in the archive, Culshaw's impression of Will Young will no doubt upset the girls on the Will Young Forum
