Now, am I imagining things or did Chris mention the word 'Wife' this morning?

It was about 8am and he went to say the word 'Wife' and quickly corrected himself. Do you think he's got himself hitched whilst he's been away over Xmas and New Year?

Maybe it's just easier to say. I hate trying to explain I'm in a long term relationship with someone I share a house with. Living in sin describes it well enough, but I don't see anything wrong with it so to me the sin bit is just daft. I do have a habit of referring to her as "the missus" these days.

Living in sin annoys the religious zealots though, which can only be a good thing.

A friend of mine often describes his gf as "missus" and "wife" - they're not engaged, let alone married.

It's become a rather common term over the last five years, I don't think many people like the term "partner" they either say missus/fella or other half if not married

Well trust me, no boyfriend of mine would go around referring to me as 'missus' or 'wife' unless he had put a ring on my finger. (hmm, I wonder why I'm still single? :D )

You women are obsessed with getting a ring on your finger. What difference does it make in this day and age? It's not even like it was 20 years ago when you would get tax breaks!

Not all of them are like it though, one of the girls in my office is 35 & has been in a relationship for 16 years with the same bloke and she says they have no plans to marry because they are happy together as they are, plus seeing as they have been together for 16 years she said that there was no point & that they would have been married long before now.

I like jewellery. That's all really. The last time I was engaged I had a bespoke diamond and ruby white gold ring, so the standard has been set. I don't even really know what a tax break is...
