Do you have any that don't involve giving up smoking, losing weight or getting generally healthy?

I want to have more fun & learn to speak Japanese

Why do you want to learn Japanese? Seems an odd one to pick, unless you wish to go there?

I don't make new year's resolutions.

I wanted to learn it a few years back and have got a cd course. It's supposed to be difficult so I thought I'd give it a go, also then I won't have to read the subtitles on Heroes!

OK I have changed my mind - this year I will be making a one off new year's resolution - to learn to play the guitar I got for Christmas a couple of years back. I really must do that.

Well, add "think of 100 things to do before the end of the year" to the list, and you have 22. Seems a somewhat arbitrary target.

It does make for quite an entertaining read and he does it in a witty way.

My new year's resolution is just to ensure I don't screw up what I already have. I'm quite happy with my life the way it is right now.

There was a book in Waterstones which was called 100 things to do when you are dead, needed a bum wee so didn't stop, but I thought it was a good title.

Sorry Toph, I know she won't be able to resist.

Mine is the usual stop smoking at some point before the end of January, to have a baby ( just don't tell the gf that :p )
Drink more beer and to start some part time self learn courses I have a couple in mind, electrical installation engineer or maybe some networking stuff.

Also to make the gf as happy as I possibly can for our duration.

Ok - I don't want to harangue someone I've only just met, but there is so much in here that's disturbing!

First - tricking your partner into having a baby is a very very very bad thing to do, please don't even joke about it (plerase tell me you were joking??!) Second - drinking more beer is a bad thing to be contemplating if you actually ARE going to have a baby - it decreases your fertility, it empties your wallet and it * up your kids lives. Or it can, anyway. Third - you are considering having a baby within a relationship you describe as being potentially "happy for the duration"? Ok, I know the statistics as well as anyone, but it seems a bit defeatist to assume that your days are numbered even before you have tricked her into conceiving.....oh, you may be right.

Good luck with the courses. Hope it all works out for you!

Happy new year fella!

If you're serious about doing this I made a guitar basics pack for Baylen (Sunny's son) which has a load of basic tips, tricks, scales and chords. I could sent it your way if you like?

How's things?

Mine is mainly to continue the diet I started in September (16lbs down, 40 to go!) but also to try to manage my money a bit better, to listen to more new music, and to take more photos.

He loved it, too! He's serious about wanting to take guitar lessons now. There's a place nearby and the men in there were so sweet when I took him in a few weeks back. His guitar string broke (remember I told you?) and they didn't charge me to fix it and then they spent around 40 minutes with us. They showed him different chords and gave him all sorts of tips. All for free! It was so kind. He felt pretty cool. He ended up buying a Nirvana song book for guitar. He just needs to practice, practice, practice with what he knows now before I consider spending any money.
