Wow, I've only just noticed this thread, great, great stuff. Of course, if you want to make them 'available' sooner, the option is there for you to host them on a free hosting site (Sendspace, Rapidshare et al, and then Chris can cherry pick the ones he wants to host onto the main site).

My first Moyles era was mid-late 2001 onwards so any of these will be MASSIVELY appreciated.

See your PM, Johnny.

Just to let you know that in addition to the valentines 2000 show I have edited & sent three more shows to Chris, which are:

Saturday 8th March 1997 - Capital FM - The Late Bit: This is the first half only, unfortunately, but it's interesting to hear Chris on his own rather than with Comedy Dave or any of his team interacting with him. Guest is Andre Vincent, producer of The Bob Mills Show on Channel 4 (anyone remember that show? Thought not ).

On the show Chris discusses the "Information Super Highway" (which he calls the Internet at one point) with Mr Camp (one of two regular callers of The Late Bit, the other been Andy from Basildon FM, of which I have a clip of him on the other Capital FM half show I've yet to copy over) and slags off the Spice Girls of which today he gets on with the majority of them (although 11 years on still doesn't like Geri Halliwell ). Sound quality is clear enough although parts of it are damaged due to the age of the tape, plus also I used to listen to this tape alot, especially when he dissapeared off of Capital FM & I didn't discover him on Radio 1 until early 1999.

The show unfortunately suffers a bit from been an commercial radio broadcast so it's quite short (only 31:09) and there is a 2 minute section of just jingles and ads for Capital FM events & other DJ's, which I thought may be of interest to some. Also a third of the remix of Kim Carnes' "Bette Davis Eyes", which is due to Chris talking right at the beginning & then talking again 30 seconds later, however don't worry the rest of the song has been removed

Monday 11th September 2000 - Radio 1 - Afternoon Show: 4:00-5:30pm, last 15 minutes missing with the show cutting off at the beginning of "The Not", this has been removed as it's rather pointless to keep in the rather brief clip. Chris & Dave return after two weeks off on holiday, Rhys is still off on holiday but Melinda is there, and as it turns out wasn't on holiday when the other three were (they don't do that nowadays) & was on Richard Blackwood's show (who filled in for Chris whilst he was on holiday) and they have resorted to referring to Melinda as Mildred (it's explained on the clip).

Martine McCutcheon is the guest of the day in a rather brief interview (only two links, although IIRC this was quite a common length at the time), which unfortunately has a cut in it due to change over of tape (bugger) but the majority of it is there. No feature but the running theme was Richard Blackwood, with the team saying "Say My Name Baby" quite a few times. There's also talk of which of Craig, Anna or Darren should win Big Brother 1 (god that makes me feel old) but unfortunately no game on this one. The Bed Music on this one was only used for a very short while ( I only have one more show with it on), all in all a bit of an odd show.

Saturday 11th November 2000 - Radio 1 - Saturday Mornings: First half only, unfortunately, a novelty for Chris in this one, he's sober, which he normally wasn't on Saturday mornings, apparently. A early appearance by Rachel, who at this point was the Broadcast Assistant is rather jolly throughout & Producer Richard is there also (you know, the one who doesn't speak ). Loads of "My wife went on holiday to..." gags at the beginning of this one as well as Dave mocking Chris for falling off of his scooter at only 3mph doing a U-Turn.

Emma Bunton is the guest, unfortunately I didn't get any of this on the tape, however shows how much his opinion of the Spice Girls has changed since 1997. Chris also talks about builders whilst "Bob The Builder" plays in the background with him slagging off builders before trying to retract & justify his comments for legal reasons (you wouldn't get away with what he said on todays show with the current "Daily Heil complaining Organisation") The jingles here are rather, erm, absent, the bed music is the same as the afternoons of the time but there's no sound bytes on them, just the music (mainly because most of them mentioned Melinda and Rhys or Will). There's an edition of "Girls Going To Football" as well on this one.

I must also point out there is a rather odd bit of editing about two thirds of the way through, this was because of the minute silence for Remembrance day, as you can hear Chris handles this professional by playing four rather sombre songs rather than the usual Radio 1 playlist (except for Dido's "Here with me" & Robbie Williams' "Angels"), I decided to take out the chimes of Big Ben & the minute silence, mainly as I didn't think people would want this included however have kept the first 3 or so seconds of the songs either side of this.

This edition is perhaps one of the more random ones, but this may be because it's a Saturday Show, IIRC these were always rather random. Unfortunately the second half has deteriorated a bit, either that or the "auto reverse" didn't record the second half very well, either way the sound is a bit muffled for half of it. Also, for some reason this one jumps like a CD from time to time, not only on songs but on speech :? what makes it rather odd is that I copied this from a tape not a Mini Disc :?

Hope you enjoy them, more soon :D

I have plenty from that era, some complete & without the annoying "tape breaks". I was thinking of hosting some on one of the free hosting sites eventually, considering the amount of shows I have Chris may not want to host all of them (there is in the region of 60-100 shows) so we'll see how it pans out.

Btw, thanks for the offer, see your PM :)

One more show edited & forwarded onto Chris, a complete one this time, from a Mini Disc :D

Tuesday 18th September 2001 - Radio 1 - Afternoon Show:
Chris, Dave, Will & Lizzie are all there & Dominic reads the news on this one (of which I have kept all of his news bulletins in). This is a complete show, all links are present as is all the news bulletins. I did think of removing all of these due to the news at that time but kept them in for historical reasons more than anything else.

Also Dominic is the newsreader for this one as well & shows his comedic excellence at the end of each bulletin (regarding Will's letter to Ariel, Mr 'Ead the talking horse & TV Themes, not the news itself). It's interesting to note that not long after this Chris was "banned" from talking to the newsreaders (possibly due to 9/11), which oddly enough he comments about people (internally) writing to Ariel to complain that Chris talks to the newsreader about a talking horse rather than actual news.

Several links are very long in this show, the opening one (after the 1,2,3,4 opener of course) goes on for nearly 10 minutes & is really funny (IMO). Lizzie features quite a few times on air rather than on that "push button mike" she usually talks on. The team slate Will for writing into Ariel (the internal BBC Magazine) to complain about Sesame Prawn Toast (funnier than it sounds) Chris continues to slag off the magazine throughout the majority of the show.

Features include: I Fancy My Boyfriend's Brother, where female members of the audience phone in to say just that & actually turn out to be worse than the men. Describe The Person In The Car Next To You, which partially dies on it's arse & Mr 'Ead The Talking Horse answers the teams questions.

Hope you enjoy, and just to let you know I'm taking a slight break from these, only for a week mind, mainly as they take a dogs age to copy & edit & I need to catch up on my much missed sleep

Hopefully those nine shows will tide you over for now :D

Thanks again for doing this Chris. I'm going to take a slight break (a week off) from doing them, the full show from 18th Sept 2001 took me several hours to do (in between other things I was doing at the time) & I need to catch up on my sleep  so I'll start again not this coming weekend, next weekend.

Hope that's ok with everyone & hope you enjoy these shows :D

Ah, do you have any Sport Talk with Will Kinder in those tapes? Just been thinking about that, used to love that! Something they could bring back nowadays with Aled, I reckon.

Now, if you have this - I'll be amazed. This probably would have been September-ish 2001. Moyles had just finished playing Missy Elliot's One Minute Man, and at the end of it, him and Dave just collapsed with a fit of the giggles. Quite a few of the lyrics got "break me off", but the first word doesn't sound like "break" if you know what I mean. I still remember that to this day. If you have that then I'd be truly amazed and excited - I'd LOVE to hear that again. :D

I also remember Mark and Lard doing a similar bit after playing Toxicity by System Of A Down - right at the end when it rambles down, they both break out laughing and you hear Lard go "What a load of sh<bleep>t"!

I do have an edition of Talk Sport, I remember listening to it on more than one occasion although I don't think it's that one, I have a disc from April 2002 where they interview Holly Valence & it may have been on that one, or it could be on the one where they play many remixes of Eminem's Without Me, I do have a few others from late 2001 (on Mini Disc and Cassette, September 2001 was the cross over period of formats for me) so I may have it yet, stay tuned (although you may have to wait a while).

As for Mark & Lard I have one show of theirs from 2002, which I may get round to copying & uploading one day. :D

If you do a Mark and Lard show, it would be brilliant. Harris may not put it up, but Rapidshare it or something - please! If it's got London's Not Burning on, that's even better.

I probably will put that one up on Rapidshare unless Chris wants to put it on here? Not sure about London's Not Burning but I think there's Slim & Shady the naughty squirrels & the gag about playing a song "on a bad conditioned vinyl" I'm rather keen to find out actually, I'll have to dig that one out over the weekend :D

That Missy Elliot bit wasn't from a Sport Talk sketch, just Chris and Dave in hysterics after playing the song one day.

Yeah, would love that as well. Those were the classic years, Mark and Lard from 1-3, Moyles from 3pm-5:45. Great stuff.

Just finished recording it, its from Tuesday 23rd October 2001 & is wonderfully random, the opening link about medieval times & shows is great. Just as good, the Chris Moyles show that follows on afterwards has special guest.... Ricky Tomlinson :D :D :D :D

I agree, the show in question was Tuesday 23rd October 2001 (not 2002) and is followed by a great Moyles show with special guest Ricky Tomlinson (I've already said that above but been reminded that he's on that one has actually cheered me up a bit, especially after the week I've had).

Shame I didn't recorded more like this (M&L followed by Moyles)

Just listened to the 26 March 1999 one interesting to hear him start the show playing Rob Zombie - The Great American Nightmare otherwise know as Howard Stern's theme music...bit geeky but hey...I'm sure that's why he played it! I wonder if he'd pick it for the Golden Hour (if it wasn't for the fact it contains Yeah, motherf**ker Yeah, who do you love' multiple times :D perhaps on their last ever show).

Do you mean the opening music used for the "It's Friday, it's 4 O'Clock.." bit?

Just to let you ladies & gents know, I'm editing some more this weekend :D Have done one so far, Friday 28th January 2000 which has some great jingles & ads throughout including trailers for Radio 1's exclusive Dr Alban weekend, Radio 1's exclusive Scorpion's weekend, Melinda's Dance party & DJ Jolting Johnny Culshaw taking "a chance, on dance" :lol

Currently copying over Monday 21st Feb 2000 where today's special guest is Jay Kay from Jamiroquai, unfortunately like the Martine McCutcheon interview there is a tape break in part of the interview (bloody tapes!) & the team celebrate (or mock the celebration) of National Chip Day

I also have the following day, Tuesday 22nd Feb 2000, on tape & I wondered why, it's because on Monday's show Chris mentions it's his birthday tomorrow. I just noticed on my list that I also have his birthday show from Thursday 22nd Feb 2001, luckily on two tapes so a virtually complete show (minus tape breaks of course) :D

Yeah basically from 1:10 can't remember him doing it regularly although I didn't get to listen to the start of many of the early afternoon shows usually only from about 4:15 each day.

Another show copied (yet to be edited) Monday 29th November 1999, my last 1999 show, this time with Chris, Dave & Producer Rhys, Melinda is ill (oh what a suprise ), today's phone in is what have you wasted money on & never used, including a childs electric car, Welsh speaking lessons, where the person who took them only knows two phrases & Rhys' revelation that he spent £135 on a shirt. Games include Viaduct & my only complete copy of BlobBusters :D

I hope to get back on track by this weekend with some of these show edits, hopefully

I have some bad news & good news (depends on how you look at it).

The bad news is that the show I mentioned in the other thread (5 clips uploaded) turned out not to be the show I though it was, there was no Moyles ranting at Radio 1 losing listeners & also, another part that I remember about the particular show I thought I had found, none of listeners remixes of Will's Music (ARRRRGHHH!!!) So I am now searching through where I possibly think this Disc can be.

In good news however I have managed to find (whilst searching in one area of my house) *6 tapes (the tape with a faded label amongst them wasn't a show just random shyte music) including a complete show (Thursday 2nd August 2001) and the two Easter Bank Holiday shows, which had people phoning up pretending to be a famous person

I shall also be editing more shows & hope to have a lot more ready & sent to Chris this weekend (Hurrah!)

*originally stated 7 tapes

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Walkman has given up the ghost :x

Hopefully the spare I have works 8O

EDIT: It does :D seems the old 1980's one's head has given up the ghost, the sound wasn't playing out anymore, suddenly, nothign to do with volume control, the head decided not to pick up anymore. However my early 2000's walkman works :D

Just hope this holds out for all the other tapes

The sound quality should be better at least :D

New clip here: http://chrismoyles.net/soundvault/pafil ... le&id=1841

Friday 13th April 2001: It's Good Friday, the team are all there except Lizzie. The team discuss what to do with surplus Easter Eggs & also ask 'celebrities' (members of the audience) to call in. Jennifer Lopez, Cameron Diaz, Alan Shearer, Stephen Hawking and God himself make the call. The music has been removed.

I'd like to give a big apology, I haven't had time to edit any of recent unfortunately, I'll try to get what I can done & sent onto Chris in the near future. However, luckily I'm off from Wednesday 24th December 2008 (after 1pm, half day at work) & don't go back to work until Thursday 8th Jan 2009 :D so I should have plenty of time to edit & send on to Chris

Once again apologies for the delay.

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE

I have found some more Classic Moyles on Mini Disc :D I was clearing out my room & found a miniature Mini Disc, disc holder with several Mini Disc's in there. Along with several Jon Holmes Shows I found four Chris Moyles Shows, they are as follows:

Friday 11th January 2002 (Will sends the jingle Machine off to be repaired but can't remember who he sent it to, An edition of Sports Talk with Will & other random guff)

Thursday 7th February 2002 (The one I've been talking about, Chris complains virtually all the way through at how crap the show has been & promises to even bring back Jon Culshaw to make it the best Friday show ever, sadly I didn't tape this to MD or Tape, he has a big rant about the engineers as well & not only do we get versions of Will's Music but Dave tries to create it ringtone style-e on his mobile, this in the days when mono & polyphonic ringtones were popular. I do like this particular show but others may not, it's as random as you like & not only that it's odd to hear Chris moan throughout almost the whole show, rather than just for 10-30 mins)

Friday 20th December 2002 (possibly a Christmas Show & last show of the year, minus probably the pre-record on Christmas day)

Monday 3rd July 2006 (I haven't a clue as to what is on this & it's rather random to have amongst the other three shows above)

I have copied the first two so hopefully they'll be ready soon.

There is some BAD news unfortunately, Audacity has unfortunately ballsed (sp) several of the recordings, where as when you use the internet & record the "listen again" the sound judders & breaks up, it seems as if Audacity has done this with several of the tape recordings, however replace judders with CD like skips :x Which means I have to re-record alot again :x, that is the reason why I have delayed editing some more of recent. :(

Sorry ladies & gents but hopefully I will have a lot more ready for you over the Christmas period :)
